ok tired to use keyfob like you said but no joy.

according to autodata it says -

omega94-97

switch ign on,
programming mode active for 30seconds
point remote at reciever and press lock/unlock button
interior lamp flash's to indicate correct synchronziation.

Have sprayed lock and tried but no luck yet, will keep trying and see what happens with locks but as i said i doubt they will open as they have never worked, only fob and now thats stopped  :(.

any other ideas ?.

thanks.

Give the keyholes a damned good squirt of plusgas, leave for an hour , then try the key again .. its a hard turn, almost feels like the key will break .. but it should unlock.

And what is the interior light flashing got to do with anything ?? To reprogram .. insert key, turn to ON but don't start the engine .. press lock/unlock/lock/unlock .. the central locking should cycle each time.

Key is now reprogrammed.

Hi thanks for the reply. To be honest i doubt the keys will turn as they have been like this since i have had it. will try it though and hope it works !.

The autodata book says that you tuen the igniton on and then press the fob and the interior light flash's to tell you that its sync with the car.

will try the way you suggest and see how it goes. fingers crossed !.

Thanks.

Ok i have a 1994 omega 2ltr.

Problem is, when i got the car over a year ago the keys have nevered opened the door as they are jammed, been told its common due to age. Only lock that works is the boot.

So, i have been using the fobs untill now, they have stopped working !
Car is deadlocked and can only access through boot !.

Have tried new batterys, tried re-programe the fobs etc but with no joy as when i try to re-program them i cant get the interior light to flash !.

I did when i first got the car disable the immob as was having problems starting, got insturctions form here how to do that. but the fobs have always worked. tried connecting wires together again to see if fob will programe/work but with no joy !

Any ideas or otherwise i may have to scrap it  :'(.

Thanks, Ian

Not that sure on IR fob, but does IR need resyncing/reprogramming?

Sounds like the heater matrix needs flushing out, if the hose in is hot but the outlet is only warm then this would suggest and blocked matrix.
HTH.

Yes that what i thought but i have flushed it out twice and still no diffrence or very little diffrence

anyone know how to take the heater matrix out ?

Omega General Help / Omega 2.0 16V 1994 Problems Help Please, Newbie
« on: 09 November 2007, 12:47:15 »
Hi just recently picked up a 2.0 Omega L reg, Great Car !

Two problems i was wondering if anyone could help with ?  :)

First - I think the idle air control valve is gone. Have tried cleaning it but works for a little while then revs go crazy when i stop etc... Where is the best place to get one ?

Second - The heaters are not working properley. I have drained the systems twice and flushed it etc... Top pipe is hot but bottom pipe is warm where it goes into matrix ? inside car.
The air is not cold it is slighlty warm, Just wondering if their is an easy fix. its not the head gasket etc... as i've checked all that.

Any help would be great !.

P.s also what are these cars like for towing a car on a trailer ?

Thanks.

Ian.
