Looking to buy a set if magnecor plug leads for my Omega, magnecor site says 6549 is correct but when purchasing from various websites it states there for the vectra 2.5 v6.

There not a stocked item so they order from magnecor which takes 2 or 3 weeks so any chance of a return is probably nonexistent.

Thanks for the help & replies, it’s nice to find a forum still with active members i thought they all died away back in the early 2000s

I know any brand of stuff would do but thought it would be nice to have Gm lol, plus back in the day it used to be well priced but alot of stuff seems hard to get now which is bumping the prices up. Likes of the original red antifreeze for 5 litres is over £100 in some places. Is the blue stuff ok to use or better sticking with red from another brand?

I’m looking to source original gm service parts for my 3.0 v6, does anyone know the part numbers for Oem oil, air filter, fuel filter & spin on oil filter, I’ve ordered the adapter to convert mine.

Is there any websites useful for finding the oem part numbers for parts i’ll be looking in the future?

Vectra C ones might be the same shape but are of limited use as the Vectrum is canbus based rather than traditional wiring.

Ambersil sticky label remover or Tar spot remover both work a treat but do require effort.

Also hot soapy water and a soft nail brush can produce reasonable results but requires a bit of dismantling to avoid destroying the switches themselves.

Yea didn’t mean the actual button itself but by popping the the button cover of its clips & putting them onto my original Omega buttons but looking at ones on EBay the clips look to be in a different place.

I did try soapy water & Isopropyl Alcohol it did improve slightly but I went to far with 1 or 2 & the white plastic started to come through sadly, looks like I’ll just have to put up with it

Has anyone found a way to resolve the sticky button problem? Is there anyway of getting them recoated or any others out of another car that fit? I was looking at Vectra C ones that look to be the same in the photos but unsure if there the same fit. It’s the only thing about the car that annoys me 

I attempted to clean them with IPA but it started to go through to the white plastic below the coating

Save your money and buy a set of Eibach springs

Given the OPs location, I'm guessing he isn't interested in ride quality, it just needs to have lumps of concrete for springs, so the rear tyres can be wasted in a few minutes at the local drift track.

where not all like that over here but your not wrong haha, be lucky if a set of tyres lasts 1 outing, I do use my car for travelling to work sometimes so a bit of comfort would be nice, previous owner cut the springs but mot coming up soon so coilovers it is.

Has anyone tried these recently? Seen some posts from a few years ago saying they were poor and springs to soft but just wondering if they have modified them to suit better yet?

Being the only cheaper coilover option out there I might just bite the bullet and give them a try, can't justify spending the 1k plus that kw ones are up for as I only use my Omega at weekends.

Also spent the last 2 days sorting out my door pockets , scraped of all the sticky rubber with a knife and brake fluid, then flattened down with 1500 wet and dry and polished up. Looks loads better than before as mine was all scratched.

Haha thanks, tbh it was the colour that attracted me to it, I've had a few gold cars and I always thought they look well when done, especially in the Omega, rare colours is always good imo

I'll be round for the front bumper later as mine is dented with flaking paint  .

No problem but it won't be cheap , bumper respray wouldn't be too expensive, you should get it done, these cars are worth preserving in my opinion.

Yea still on every year although it's not what it used To be, just a bigger nuts corner market , very much doubt there will be one this year though

Certainly looks a tidy old thing Have you been underneath to check for rust?A good move I think to change the carpet-who thought putting pale carpets in any car was a good idea??-personal opinion I know but I always thought the boot spoiler really "finished" the car off and they look much better with one fitted

Yea had it up on the lift before I even bought it to check for rust and its surprisingly solid with no sign of any repairs (yet). Yea carpet completely transformed the inside, nice place to sit in now 

I see it's had the Irish lowering treatment. 

Yea previous owner put cavalier springs in the back and cut the front springs haha, looking at Ta technix coilovers on ebay atm but reviews don't seem to great, not sure if I want to pay the higher price for Gaz coilovers or not.

Hey guys new to this page just thought I'd show off my new project, always wanted an Omega from I started driving, this popped up locally (think it come out of England recently) I had to have it, liked the colour more than anything, don't see many Omegas this colour.

Don't have too many plans for it other than to make tidy as possible without spending a fortune.



First I done was ripped out the cream carpet and sill trims, carpet was covered in all sorts of stains that I couldn't get to shift so went to my local breakers yard and got a grey carpet and cleaned that up, also cleaned and treated the leather while it was out, couldn't believe the transformation for just £20!



Also sourced a spoiler and got that painted along with the boot lid as someone had superglued holden badges on  :[ have new vauxhall badge coming, also screwed on some gm mudflaps.



Sorry for lack of photos wasn't planning on doing a project thread but covid 19 has me bored 

Future plans are stainless steel exhaust with twin tip, irmscher grill, get wheels refurbished with lower profile tyres and just keep the car tidy, there's not much to do to these cars vauxhall got it bang on imo!
