Omega General Help / Pollen filter box / housing removal

Has anyone ever removed the housing for the pollen filter? Is it done from the engine bay side or up behind the dash? If it has to be from behind the dash I presume its a pig of a job :-*

Omega General Help / Rear Abs pickup ring specs
« on: 15 November 2025, 23:26:04 »
Been looking for new abs rings for my rear shafts on my 3.0 v6 as mine are broke, checked all the usual places such as autodoc etc seemingly no where has any.

Came across these ones earlier, would any know if these will fit? I stupidly binned my broken ones so cant check ::) Thanks!

Omega General Help / Re: Oem Lower control arms ( Wishbones )

i’ll just replace with new then as there does look to be a slight bend as mentioned. I wouldn’t have thought at 24 years old they would be oem anyway but was worth a check, I did find Nos Gm arms at £280 plus shipping from America but hard to justify that cost. Cheers :y

Omega General Help / Oem Lower control arms ( Wishbones )
« on: 09 July 2025, 06:49:13 »
Removed my bottom arms as i’m refreshing my suspension, if the arms were oem i was going to rebuild then with Polybushes & as i’m told the after market arms don’t last.

Upon removing I can’t see any part numbers or gm stamping or any other parts manufacture stamping. Are these likely to be oem or just another generic brand?

My car was a 3.2 automatic & has been converted to a 3.0 Manual, seemed to be a lot of unused plugs most likely from the auto so im removing them from the loom. Took photos of all unused but missed this one.

Cant remember if it was plugged in somewhere or if it was something to do with the automatic gearbox, 1 wire is blue/green & other is green/black

Omega General Help / Re: V6 oil cooler pipes
« on: 29 May 2025, 01:26:32 »
Cheers got sorted in the end, had to drop the down pipe off the exhsust manifold & that let me manoeuvre the pipes in. Starting to realise a lot of jobs on these is a pita!

Omega General Help / V6 oil cooler pipes
« on: 25 May 2025, 01:04:52 »
Anyone changed the oil cooler pipes with engine & gearbox in situ?

Fitted new oil cooler to my car but when removing the oil pipes the union had seized to the pipe and, was using a crows foot & ended up ringing the nut so resorted to cutting the pipe.

Trying to get the new ones wiggled through but everything seems to be in the way, gearbox, steering arms, chassis legs etc.

Working off a set of ramps that lift the car about 12 inches if even that much & the car is lowered so don’t really want to be pulling exhausts etc off atm as theres not alot of room.

If anyone has done this please shed some light ;D

Omega General Help / Do Vectra 2.5v6 ht leads fit X30XE Omegq
« on: 30 April 2025, 19:04:55 »
Looking to buy a set if magnecor plug leads for my Omega, magnecor site says 6549 is correct but when purchasing from various websites it states there for the vectra 2.5 v6.

There not a stocked item so they order from magnecor which takes 2 or 3 weeks so any chance of a return is probably nonexistent.

Omega General Help / Re: Part numbers for service items
« on: 18 March 2025, 21:17:12 »
Thanks for the help & replies, it’s nice to find a forum still with active members i thought they all died away back in the early 2000s ;D

I know any brand of stuff would do but thought it would be nice to have Gm lol, plus back in the day it used to be well priced but alot of stuff seems hard to get now which is bumping the prices up. Likes of the original red antifreeze for 5 litres is over £100 in some places. Is the blue stuff ok to use or better sticking with red from another brand?

Omega General Help / Part numbers for service items
« on: 16 March 2025, 20:48:40 »
I’m looking to source original gm service parts for my 3.0 v6, does anyone know the part numbers for Oem oil, air filter, fuel filter & spin on oil filter, I’ve ordered the adapter to convert mine.

Is there any websites useful for finding the oem part numbers for parts i’ll be looking in the future?

Cheers

Omega General Help / Re: Sticky buttons replacement?
« on: 02 April 2024, 18:24:59 »
Vectra C ones might be the same shape but are of limited use as the Vectrum is canbus based rather than traditional wiring.

Ambersil sticky label remover or Tar spot remover both work a treat but do require effort.

Also hot soapy water and a soft nail brush can produce reasonable results but requires a bit of dismantling to avoid destroying the switches themselves.

Yea didn’t mean the actual button itself but by popping the the button cover of its clips & putting them onto my original Omega buttons but looking at ones on EBay the clips look to be in a different place.

I did try soapy water & Isopropyl Alcohol it did improve slightly but I went to far with 1 or 2 & the white plastic started to come through sadly, looks like I’ll just have to put up with it  :-\

Omega General Help / Sticky buttons replacement?
« on: 02 April 2024, 17:22:47 »
Has anyone found a way to resolve the sticky button problem? Is there anyway of getting them recoated or any others out of another car that fit? I was looking at Vectra C ones that look to be the same in the photos but unsure if there the same fit. It’s the only thing about the car that annoys me  :-\

I attempted to clean them with IPA but it started to go through to the white plastic below the coating
