o yes thats another thing i just took all the air intake system off to inspect it for leaks. anyways theres a little black thingy that sits at the back about half way down. it has an electric plug and 2 thin plastic air hoses. anyways when i took the top one off there was a big hiss. now hears the question. is it meant to??

well my car is still cutting out now and again mostly very slow speed or tickover. now im getting code 74. ( mass air flow meter voltage high ) so what the hell does this mean. ( considering i changed it allready ). :-?

thanx markie. have done a paperclip test and it shows no faults. this problem is driving me to dispair. i never thought i would say this but i now hate this piece of garbage.see prev-thread ( cutting out )

can anybody tell me if one of the lamda oxygen sensors was knackered would it show up on the engine managment fault light.

ok so i checked everything and nowt. im going to take it to vauxhall and they can put it on tech2. i dont know if that will be able to show up more than a paperclip test but at least i get to donate £60 to a worthy cause :-?

Going by the MAF faults originally - and I doubt it had failed - look for air leaks.

Is the tickover slightly eratic?

the tick over is terrible but only when this problem appears the strange thing is the car can drive (and tickover) perfectly  for anything up to half an hour then start all this carry on. its a intermitant fault because it can clear its self. (and the check light will go out). im totally lost

Try cleaning that mate... a guide in the maintenance section which is great. Hopoe it helps
