cutting out
« on: 19 July 2008, 17:58:08 »

my car has started cutting out over the last 2 days. i changed the crank sensor about 3 months ago i cleaned out the idle control valve. last week it broke down had to get a recovery. when i got home i done a paperclip test and that showed up 73 74. mass airflow meter. got one from the scrappy and the car seemed fine. so now its started cutting out again i done another paperclip test and the only codes it shows are (12 31) which i know about. but also 135. when its about to cut out it starts running rough and the check light lights up. help :(

does it happen when you take your foot of the throttle when you go to brake when approaching junctions and roundabouts?

Going by the MAF faults originally - and I doubt it had failed - look for air leaks.

Is the tickover slightly eratic?

the tick over is terrible but only when this problem appears the strange thing is the car can drive (and tickover) perfectly  for anything up to half an hour then start all this carry on. its a intermitant fault because it can clear its self. (and the check light will go out). im totally lost :(
