I used gen gaskets and sealent , the right side was very hard and i changed them as i thort it was the cam covers but it is on right side so maybe it is the cam cover still i will strip it down again and have a look maybe it is the half moon bits as they slot in dont they? if its caught then maybe that is problem?

Omega General Help / Really bad oil leak can anyone help?
« on: 06 April 2008, 21:40:33 »
Hello let me start by saying that i have dun both the rocker cover gaskets and cleaned the breather system but i still have a leak?

I drove 35miles to work this morning most of way at 30mph due to the heavy down full of snow but i had to pull over and top oil up buy about a ltr as the computer said OIL LACK i can see it running down the right side of bell houseing but only leaks when the oil is hot also there are lots of smoke coming from right side exhaust manifold.

I say right side as you face the engine looking back.
It runs down from where oil filter is if the helps but higher than filter if you get my drift?
I really hope somone can put some light on this as its driving me crazy.
Many thanks for reading.

Omega General Help / Oil leaking problems help needed
« on: 03 April 2008, 23:40:51 »
Hi
I have just got a 2.5 v6 omega cdx had it nealy a week now iv not used the car as have been waiting for insurance papers for tax ect ect..

But i have an oil leak first i thort it was crank seal but its not its higher, so i got some rocker cover gaskets anyway...

I started the big job tonight iv striped it down and changed left side as you look at car faceing back as i was doing this i noticed a huge build up of oil right under inlet manifold under black plastic spacer bit which is held in by 12 torq bolts?
When the engine was running there was a big constant leak of oil running down side of engine running down belhouseing where oil filter is! can this really be rocker gaskets?

Omega General Help / Oil leaking problems?
« on: 30 March 2008, 22:22:02 »
Hello im new to an omega v6 and i seem to have an oil leak from somwhere?! there is oil appearing round side of right side exhaust manifould and oil sitting on upward faceing part of oil sump where top of bolts are.
Strange just cant find it! but having car since friday 28th and its now sunday the oil lev has not gone down? but today i toke inlet manifold off and cleaned out the black plastic thing on top with 4 pipes on back and 2 on front it was full of black carbon and i cant see how any air would get throw there it was so bad!
anyway put it all back together and it seems to run somther than it did before but would anyone know if that would relax the pressure in the rocker covers?
I do appoligse for grammer and spelling.
