I switched off the ignition and noticed the radio was still lit up. I turned the ignition back on and the radio wouldnt turn on or off. Switched off the ignition and tried again still nothing and the light permanently on Removed fuse no. 20 and the light on the radio went out, replaced and the radio seems to be ok Is there still a problem or is this a one off :-?
Tracked it down to the dimmer which has shorted out on the headlamp switch. Bought a replacement off ebay, came next day from omegaspareparts.com, fitted, everthing back to normal. Also found some doggy wiring as its an ex plod and sorted that out as well!
Ive had a look at Haynes and the fuse for the dashlights does cruise, sunroof, glove box, reversing lights etc. which are all still working. I think it must be a short too. Looks like its time to take things apart!:(
Driving home today there was a burning smell and then the dashboard lights went out and the indicator bulb for the gear selector on the auto box. Is it just the fuse or the fuse and somthing else? :-/
My last Omega had the same problem, took it ot the garage and they said that they would have to take the dash board off to get to the aircon as a drain was blocked and the water was overflow and they would have to replace the box under the rad, cost £400 ++ I left it so my wife just got her feet wet when the air con was on!
Had a go last night, adjusted the wrong ones (inner) :-?, adjusted the outer ones and lifted the lights up a bit, needs a little bit more, Ill try the drill method sounds like a good idea. thanks.
I agree cruise is great for 50 limits etc. but mine gets all exicted if there is a steep hill and changes down to race up it I have to knock it off on hills so it doesnt get carried away
I had slow wipers, it turned out to be the splined shafts seized up, undid the circlips and knocked them out, greased and refitted you have to take the motor and arms out to do this
