Omega General Help / Pulling left...
« on: 17 October 2008, 15:29:24 »
Hi

I have an ongoing problem where the car keeps wanting to pull to the left while i'm driving

I have had the following items replaced / done and it still does it:
-Wheel alignments
-Camber
-Idler arm
-lower suspension wishbones
-new tyres
-new front discs and pads
-checked tyre pressures

It's nothing to do with the camber of the road, i've tried other omegas.

Any suggestions?

Omega General Help / 1998 Omega Refeflection Differential Oil Leak
« on: 24 September 2008, 07:53:46 »
Hi,

Is it common for these to leak at 50K?

I have what seems like 2 leaks on the differential, one on the input flange and the other on the left side oil seal.

How big of a job is it changing these seals and the approx. time involved?

Omega General Help / Radio Security Codes
« on: 19 September 2008, 15:59:52 »
Is it possible to permanently change the radio code on the CCR600?

I have put in a replacement radio and would like to keep the original CCR400 radio security code so that the Vauxhall car pass details remain the same.

Regards

The Silver colour shade used on both chassis types, is it the same colour code or did that get modified with the later car?

Not particularly worried about the mouldings but as long as the colour shade on the silver matches.

May be some on the car they are stripping bits off for me
Thanks. I would be interested in the doors that are not rusty or damaged & how much?

Can a forum members advise me exactly what are the differences between these two doors and if they are interchangeable.

Due to the lack of decent silver coloured doors for my 1998 Omega saloon, I thought of trying around for the later model ones.

Regards and thanks.

Omega General Help / Making up Spare keys - Omega Pre-facelift
« on: 19 August 2008, 07:25:11 »
Any forum member have suggestions how I can make up some spare keys fairly inexpensively?

The blades and immobilizer chip are straight forward to me but it is the remote section of the key that I can't get a handle on.

If I buy some used remotes, how and where can they be programmed. Can they be done in the ignition or has this to be done otherwise?

With thanks

My Omega has a gash in the headlining that I would like to sort out either by repairing or replacing it.

Has any forum member been through this exercise and can give any advice?

What are we looking at in time, expense etc?

Omega General Help / Ribe or Torx on Vauxhall Omega
« on: 14 August 2008, 16:37:47 »
With regards to the moulding/Scuttle screws inside the omega, some have what looks like a torx head.

Can some Forum member clarify exactly what they are, Torx or Ribe as I want to invest in some good quality tools for this purpose.

With thanks.

Omega General Help / Omega 1998 2.5 Litre - Dash Light Problem
« on: 14 August 2008, 08:50:30 »
Thanks folks for coming back to me so quick about the dash light problem.

Very good point about changing all the bulbs while I am at it. Will do.

The Haynes manual says to take off the steering wheel to remove the speedo assy., can the be done otherwise. When you say it is a ten minute job I assume that the steering wheel can be left intact?

Omega General Help / Omega 1998 2.5 Litre - Dash Light Problem
« on: 14 August 2008, 07:07:43 »
I have just noticed that the right side of the lighting, by the speedo does not work. Is this blown bulbs or something else?

The vehicle has only done 49K, surely it can't be bulbs?

Any help out there please.

General Discussion Area / Re: Vauxhall Breakers
« on: 17 August 2008, 10:46:44 »
Does anyone know of any Omega breakers down my end of the world in Exmouth, Devon as I am battling to find two parts.

They are:-

1/. Black leather steering wheel c/w radio controls etc.
2/. Left front door - Star Silver

Found a very nice door on e-bay, won it but the seller won't ship it. That seems to be a problem with the doors and larger parts.
