Omega General Help / Re: Bonnet Release
« on: 18 February 2010, 13:21:01 »
Thanks Guys
I've managed to get it open & I've adjusted the cable as suggested.
I got it open by pulling the release handle and wedging it in the fully pulled position then a sharp push on the front of the bonnet released the catch fully, job done.

Omega General Help / Bonnet Release

Has anybody got any ideas on how to open the bonnet on a facelift omega. Obviously I've tried pulling the release handle but it's not quite realising the catch. I haven't driven the car for a few weeks so the battery is disconnected and I'm on my own. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've just had another go at starting the car. If I keep my foot on the throttle the revs will go up to 3k and the drop suddenly back to 2k then rise again to 3k and so on until I take my foot off the throttle at which point the car stalls.
Does this still sound like one of the sensors or could it be the throttle body?

Omega General Help / Stalling
« on: 19 March 2009, 16:21:00 »
Hi everybody I have a 2001 2.2cdx auto that won't run. It starts ok but quickly stalls if I keep blipping the throttle quickly I can catch it from stalling but I can't rev it above 3000rpm as soon as stop blipping the throttle it stalls plus the eml is lit up.
Any ideas please.

Thanks for the info. Is there a guide for this somewhere on the site for a 2.2 petrol engine?

Omega General Help / Engine electronics warning
« on: 29 June 2008, 19:51:50 »
I've had the electronics warning symbol in the dash (the car with the spanner through it)come on a couple of times whilst I've been driving. If I stop turn off & then re-start the engine the light goes out. I have however noticed a bit of a reluctance for the engine to idle properly from a cold start & if I pull away the engine will bog down & stall. It seems to be ok if I let it idle for a couple of minutes to sort itself out & then pull away.
When I first switch on it idles at about 1000/1100 rpm & then rises upto 1400 and falls back to 1000. It does this a few times before finally settling down.

Is one or more of my sensors on the way out or could this be the start of something more sinister?

Omega General Help / Re: 2.2 estate exhausts

Tunnie - Was it easy to fit and did it come with all the rubbers & brackets?

By the way the guys who quoted £225.00 were quoting for either Bosal or Arvin with a 2yr warranty!

I've been quoted £225.00 supplied & fitted inc the vat so I guess £130+vat is about right.

Why does the 2.2 have a left & right pipe going into a single back box if the single pipe system from the 2.0 fits & works

Omega General Help / 2.2 estate exhausts
« on: 09 June 2008, 19:28:49 »
I've just confirmed that the middle section of my exhaust has a hole in it. Thats the section where it splits into two & then goes into the back box.
Does anyone know how much this section costs and where I could get one preferebly fitted as I'm not that good with the spanners & I'll probably end up putting a hole in the fuel tank or something!
