Omega General Help / Re: TC Button not working...any ideas
« on: 05 February 2009, 16:07:30 »
The TC dash light comes on with ignition and goes off when engine is running...TC is then on

When you hit a slippery patch and wheels loose grip the dash light will illuminate and then go off

If you press TC switch on then you disengage TC and the dash light stays on continuesly.

It comes down to do i take the risk and hope for the best...until i can replace it.   With me i did around 1000 miles before i got belt kit , dvd and hired locking tools because i had to use car...in hind sight i wouldn't have driven it with the belt loose as it was...yours might be ok and you may have no probs for the next few weeks....you just don't know and thats what does your head in.   its one of the joys of owning a v6 er  !!

Thanks,

I now have the lower manifold section off the car and I have cleaned out the breathers as described on the how to.

Now the cam cover won't budge!. Obviously I've removed the 8 bolts and have tried a little gentle persusaion with a rubber mallet it you'd think it had been welded on!

Any ideas. how much "persuasion2 can one use. I've read that you shouldn't lever it off in case you damage the facing.

wonder if an excess amount of sealant was previously used..with all 8 bolts removed theres nothing else holding it on

I have just done mine...when you carefully lift plenum off and forward a bit you can see at rear of plenum an air pipe and elec conn loom, these are on pass side, usually last things to unplug.

Omega General Help / Done cambelt...but can suck on Air Inj Inlet Pipe
« on: 12 September 2008, 14:13:23 »
Hi everyone..Just done my first cambelt kit change, big thanks for previous advice to do it asap as top idler was naf and cam 1 had slipped a tooth as belt was loose...just waiting to slip another. Thanks to jamesv6cdx for kind offer of borrowing locking kit but noticed you can hire from autovaux for £15  :y
Great DVD...really helped, on which mark removes the air injection inlet pipe and explains that you should be able to blow and not suck.

well on mine you can suck..and sounds like a digiridoo thingy..

what does this pipe do, all seems to be running smooth, do i need to change it quickly..the one way valve has obviously gone.
any advice would be a great help,
