Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Xenon problems

I'd try and swap over the ballast (igniter, starter, rectifier, square metal box thing mounted to underside of headlight unit!) with the one on the good side and see if the problem changes side, if it does then you need a new ballast pack...

Be aware of the high voltages involved when working on xenon light systems.
You mean HID :y

Easy enough to run a cable from battery (with a fusible link) back to where you want it with a suitable connector at the outlet
Thanks might try that unless anylone else has any sugestions?

I dont want to use the cig lighter in the back because the dvd will go off every time I turn the engine off.

Always adviseable to connect via an ignition switched supply to ensure that when the keys are out, the system is dead and cannot inadvertantly drain the battery.

Sorry, not sure what connectors are used on the Omega, so not able to point you at anything.

I've fixed it now. I did a search and found a thread where someone had reset the head unit (for another reason). So I thought I'd give that a go. I held down the 'clear' button and the head unit reset, and the sat nav started working perfectly again :)

Right just been out and took the head unit out and I took the cage out as well, then I took the leads out of the cage and pluged them into the head unit but it still doesnt seem to be working. It was working the other day fine :(
