Hi,

I've bought some headrest dvd players to fit my Omega C. I'd like to use the power wire for the electric seats and some how split that off to power the headrests. Is that possible and, if so, which wire is it. These are the powered seats NOT memory. They have two clips, one presumably for the side airbags and one for the seat motors but I can't determine which is the power wire. Any help?
how many amps are the headrest TVs going to draw?
i wouldnt myself i would put in a separate switching feed personally

if you do change them invest in some sound deadening eg dynamat it improves the sound and stops irritating vibrations :y

plus i would always try and run them of an amp if you can a head units output isnt enough to do them justice and 4x50 is a measurement of its peak power over a very short time you have more like half that running continuously and that's not even a rms measurement (Root means square)true power output measurement

the mid range will be lots better off an amp it is able to drive the mid/woofer properly :y

I have a transmitter type and I am not that impressed with them it seems to keep loosing the frequency as you travel
it depends on the one you have try tuning around 88MHz
what is happening is that radio stations around you are over powering it so you need to find some clear frequency's

Sounds like an uber cheap nasty one without a PLL lcoked output.

In theory, an FM transmitter can provide excellent results.
yeh no phase locked loop

the 60 odd quid one from belkin is not to bad
but not cheap either for that your on your way too a new headunit

the two chambers differ in size as well as do the the ports and length and diameter to give a wider sub frequency response the spl of each apposing sub stops over exertion giving a more controlled stability
i will measure up and let you know :y :y

I believe the correct term is 'Ya cannae polish a turd!'

I think it's pretty hard to get a good sound in a car, it's just not designed for it.

Oh, how wrong you are . . . . .

It may not be designed for it, and it may indeed be a very hostile environment . . .

But you can certainly get some awesome sounds inside a car

 8-)
is there any where designed for sound systems except recording studios theaters concert areas i cant think of any/many more

obviously you have no idea of good quality sound just because the amps are big it doesn't have to be loud.

i have a Linn home stereo and that has 4 pre amps 4 power amps that is masive and sound quality that will take some beating and that is not a loud system but very high quality

best place for my amps im stuggling cause i need all the space in the back to go fishing, the only place i can think of is in the rear seat foot wells the backs of the seats are no good as i need them folded down and then my system will then get bashed about with all my gear.

who would of thought finding space in a omega estate would be hard   [smiley=lolk.gif]

is there a sensitivity setting on the head unit if so that may need to be changed.

check all of the connections to antenna ie for bad connections
check the coax isn't shorting out if the braid the part that shields the core which carries the signal

if the pll (phase locking loop internal component) is shot this may cause the problem as it wont lock on to weak transmissions and hold it but i woudnt think it is that as it is brand new!
