Omega General Help / adjusting headlights
« on: 12 June 2010, 07:55:15 »
last year when i put the car through the mot i was told the headlights were at the uppermost range and would have to be adjusted its a very good garage and usually do these things for you however he said he couldnt do it and i might have to replace the lights ?
i have looked into this and there doesnt appear to be any manual adjustment on this model = X reg 2.6 V6 CDX
it has xenon lights which according to the manual are controlled by the onboard computer so the question is can i adjust these manually if so how
thanks for reading this

excellent point Andy when i bought mine the service booklet had an addition suspicious entry cam belt at 56,000.  lucky for me that that all the services had been done at a dealership and i checked their records turned out it was done at 38,000

Omega General Help / CAM BELT ISSUES
« on: 31 August 2009, 10:14:12 »
Hi guys havent been around for a while.
ok so my son and i are out hunting for an omega for him got a nice one 2.6 elite auto on a Y plate £900.00 117,00 on the clock last cam belt at 80,000.
so i thought that we are looking at every 40,000 miles or so for new cam belt so this one is close.
not so my son says hes read the haynes manual and their is a statement saying that after 1997 Vauxhall had an on going improvement to cam belt which increased the mileage to almost double needless to say i havent as yet seen this statement.
so is there any truth in this ?
what mileage should i actually be looking at before changing a cam belt ?
thanks

the colour of my car is a deep/burgandy red as per the one on the home page

Omega General Help / service history print out
« on: 09 May 2009, 20:51:46 »
hi all
this is a bit of a re-run of the same question i thought maybe on a saturday night more of you guys may be around with some sound suggestions
My car has full service history from the same dealership up to the end of 2006 but only in the form of the service booklet
i have contacted the dealership and asked for any corresponding paperwork to confirm all work actually carried out i have offered to pay for this but they seem very vague i know they have this on their system as i did manage to get a screen shot from them showing the cars details
is there anyway i can get hold of this paperwork any suggestions ?
as a rider on this i want to have a major service on her and have had several quotes the dealership being £190.00 what do you think is a fair price for this.
me doing it is no option as im an arse at anything under the bonnet
thanks guys
