Got sooo excited about saving myself £400 quoted from a garage to sort out the problem, that i didn't notice the date of posting.

rawsondsr, did changing the HBV cure your water leak problem?
I have the same symptoms as you. went for a 40 mile drive and steam coming from under the bonnet and water dripping from the back of the engine / bell housing from underneath the car. When i looked under the bonnet at the back / top where there are 3 (what look like vacum pipes) joining the plenulm chamber, it was quite wet. Couldnt identify if the leak was coming from that area, or it was the steam that was making it wet! Some suggestions have been that the leak could be coming from the back of the engine where the oil cooler is situated. Was your test with the heater controls conclusive that it was the HBV?

First time posting on any forum. took me a while to work out what OOF meant though  :-/ . got it now  ;D
Feel the need to go and get all my spanners out and get dirty after spending most of my day looking through the various forums ! Who needs a haynes manual, eh !  ;). Yes she is, CD-Pete  :y

Hi All
New to the forum and would just like to say "HI"
Own an '95 Omega estate that lkes to cost me money  >:(
Was bought for me for £600 from ebay, spent about £400 on it so far, so not out of pocket yet !! ;D Got a water leak problem that might change all that though !!  :o
Will post the question in the relevant forum  ;)
