Omega Electrical and Audio Help / no reversing lights
« on: 03 December 2009, 12:58:29 »
Just discovered I have no reversing lights in my manual estate (1999) I changed the bulbs to no effect. Is it likely to be some kind of switch? Help please, thanks.

Thanks for your quick replies. It has got the phone so I may just leave it all in and get a nice new up to date unit with the latest gizmos built in.

I find the forum a fantastic help for novice owners like me!

Hi, I have a 1999 2.5v6 cdx estate, which some kind person wrote off in a car park and left without leaving details! The radio is the 700 with a multi changer in the back. My replacement is a 1999 cd version. I was wondering if I could take the head unit and multichanger out and use it in the new one?

cheers Bob (happy that I've discovered omegas!)

General Car Chat / Fantastic service in Ipswich
« on: 13 November 2009, 14:53:31 »
Today I went to Autofit in Ipswich who I have found in the past to be very good. I wanted them to swap my back wheels with the front and balance the new front wheels to see if it would stop a slight vibration I feel through the steering wheel at some speeds as the original front wheels had different make tyres on. This they quickly done and when completed the boss said no charge you have used me in the past! Service to get me back in the future. :y

thats thanks to the torque, but, i would not pull off in second too much you will kill the clutch. (your slipping it every time you pull off in second)

I'm not so sure, I cant detect any clutch slip, but obviously its better safe than sorry!
Vx spent millions on the design, and I'm pretty sure if 1st wasn't needed then they wouldn't have included it.[/quote]
That`s what I like about you KW. Straight to the point 8-)
I wonder if its geared to cope with towing or a full load of passengers because it seems not to need it with just me in.
