Ah Kevin sounds like its a job for your Tech 2  :D

Car gets up to temp fine.
Car runs fine.
Tickover is Fine.

I will try unplugging the MAF Next time she plays up.

That's why I have never been bothered about the intermittant EML. Until today when she wouldn't start unless I gave her a throttle full on the accellerator pedal.

It starts fine now though :D

Happy Days.

Paper clip test with the engine running......no 31 so that's a bonus

So I am left with the

89
13
73

Any connection with the 3 or are they all seperate faults. :y

Wouldn't know on that.

But I will check codes again with the engine running :y

I hope it's a simple fix as a loose earth or fuse. Don't fancy spending out on expensive parts this time of year :'(

Here goes.........well the engine light has been coming off and on for a while now. :D  It appears for a few seconds then goes straight out while i'm driving. Happens ever say 50 odd miles so I have sort have let it go as she has been running fine anyway.

Tody though after stopping ( Then shopping ) I tried to start her and she just spun round really quickly on the turn of the key. No firing. Tried it a few times then gave her a pedal full of gas and it started. Happened again on the way home when the wife wanted to stop somewhere else.

Just checked the codes...engine not running and there is a 31 dispalyed. Is this me Crank sensor again as I only replaced it this time last year :'(

The other codes present are:
89
13
73

and of course the 31

I am surprised I never had any bits left over

Well for those who have not read my previous posts from today. Here goes.

Done a Crank Breather Clean today. Plenum off. All the good stuff and got it all nice and clean :y

Went out for a run in her earlier with no faults. Run lovely. Tick over was much better.

Went for another blast about 30 mins ago. Motorway job to check MGP :D

Engine light came on  >:(

Paperclip test done.

Now the 73 and 74 may have been me. I disconnected the MAF when I got back while the engine was still running. Unplugged and the tick over went lumpy. Plugged back in and it went back to smooth.

Oh Bugger. I knew I should have left the car well alone :-[

Right I did a Crank Breather clean today. Took Plenum off and noted a hose coming from the back of the engine going to nothing.

While refitting everything I had a good look round and can not see for the life of me where it could go. It is definately attached to the engine down the back somewhere. Pipe is of harder material than that of the Plenum breather hose. I blew down it and got a pressured resisitance.

Any Clues.  :-/

Car runs fine

Thought I would clean the crank case breather today.

All now nice and clean. :y

Problem though :(

Putting it back together now. The four breather tubes at the back of the plenum. The split 2 big one, now thats obvious. Its the 2 small ones. Which one goes where on the back of the plenum please  :-X

Looks like you are going to check all the stuff I did. Binding brakes. Air Leaks. Lambada this and that. Electrics  ;D

Everyone appears to get an average between 15 to 36 mpg  :D

Just checked my trip since I reset everything beginning of the month. Car has done 365 miles on 17 gallon ;D

I think I have put around £90 in her. Its just off the quarter now showing a range left of 85 miles. Light will be fashing in 40 miles. ( less if I still poodle around town.)

I have now started taking my LD Convoy 2.5 Diesel ( Fully Loaded ) to site visits now. This will atleast do 200 miles on £40 as opposed to 130 in the Mig  :y

If you do lots of motorway driving they are okay. I get around 25mpg. Town driving... well I would get shot and buy a 5 litre Merc.  ;)
