Well said, Mr Farage. The main argument against leaving the EU seems to be that 40% of our exports go to EU countries. Our products and services seem to be in great demand in Europe. Does anybody seriously believe that all the present buyers of our goods would stop buying from us if we left the EU?

Thanks for the detailed info and, as I suspected, it's beyond my DIY capability to adapt the CDR 500 to work in the car.
And once again, apologies if I caused any offence, that wasn't my intention.
Regards

Apologies, I wasn't aware you were a member on here and if I had known I would have taken it for granted that it was as described.
Unfortunately, I have bought items from ebay in the past that weren't as described, including cars, and I tend to take descriptions with a pinch of salt, which I know isn't fair on reputable traders like yourself.
Oh dear, newbie upsetting people already, not a good start.

Lol
I'm so bored of singing to my tonedeaf self that I'm using my 1986 Senny A as a daily because it has a working stereo.

I've Pm'd Pete a couple of times and he told me it was still for sale but was waiting for a code, which he now has but needs to find time to put it back in his car to retrieve his CD's which are inside the unit. I know that he is a very busy man and it's not a priority so I thought I could use the CDR 500 as a stopgap until he is ready to sell.
The problem is I take my 13 year old grandaughter and two of her mates to school and I'm being castigated daily for having bought a car with no music. lol You probably know what kids are like nowadays. Plus. I like to listen to smooth radio when I'm out and about.

It had been messed with before I got it, jammed in the cage and the front panel was blutacked on. There was no readout when switched on, no 'SAFE' coming up. I dont think it's repairable. There's one on ebay ATM, supposedly reconditioned at, wait for it....£200! I will have to trawl the scrappys looking for one, £200 is more than a weeks money for me, a pensioner.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Stereo problem
« on: 21 November 2011, 21:36:34 »
I recently bought a nice 2002 f/l CDX 2.6 with a broken ccr 2006 stereo. Couldn't find a replacement so thinking that another VX stereo would plug in and play, I bought a cdr500 single din with cage . However, the multiplug is different and wont fit the cdr500. Is there any way round this or should I keep looking for a correct double din ccr 2006?  Also, the PO told me that it had satnav when it was working, is that possible? And, if it is, would the multiplug be the same as on a none satnav model?

Cheers for that. What actually holds the cage in place, are there clips or is it just a tight push fit?

After removing the non working head unit from my F/L CDX  to fit a good one, I find that the antenna plug has become detached from the back of the cage. Whats the best way to get access to clip it back in?
Regards.

Thanks, Mr RobG. I'll scour the local breakers for a set.

Will Elite door cards fit a f/l cdx? It's got black leather seats but the doorcards are a mess with a p/o spraying them with some sort of silicone (I think) spray which appears impossible to remove, and the Elite cards are much nicer.

I'd like to say hello to everybody and also take the opportunity to ask a question, if I may.
I will be buying an Omega early in the new year and wondered which model you would recommend. I fancy a facelift V6 CDX or Elite auto but which is the best engine to have? MPG is not a deciding factor as I do a very low annual mileage, but I like lots of toys. I have a budget of £2k. Thanks in advance for any wise words you can offer. :)
Oh, and a happy Christmas to all.
