i read that you need code for radio as well to do cd changer code, thing is i got neither but when i changed gearbox i disconected battery but the radio never requested a code !
also there is no number next to where it says cd safe !

hello every one, finally cruising around in my omega at last (some of you may of read my gearbox thread problem lol ) but i went to put a few cd,s in the changer but it keeps coming up cd-safe    is it fooked or is there a code or something??

head unit is a ccrt 700 with the phone sim card thingy
cd changer is blaupunkt 6 disc

hi all , , some may know but i changed my auto gear box a few weeks back and all was fine till today ,, i started her up and drove to the petrol garage and stuck some petrol in, went to start it up and cut out with auto box warning on and the engine management light on, manage to get back home by keeping it reved but wen i got home i popped bonnet had a look about and and see nothing unusal but then it started no warning lights ect and running all fine ,,, but then i see a hose hanging down where the gearbox is and im thinking it may be the breather of the top of the gearbox.
is it ment to be pluged into some thing ? many thanks guys

i thought same thing as i brought a omega 2 weeks ago with a blown g.box and i was looking in engine bay for ages for dip stick only to realise i was the dipstick looking for something thats not there lol

its a frustrating job tbh  i hated filling the box up after replacing my gearbox as there aint much room but i got half way through and used a bit of 3meter hosepipe and held one end in whilst a mate squeezed the atf bottle. we did half a liter at a time but it still frustrating,,, have fun !

yeah i must say i did get a sense of acheivment when i first put her into drive when i changed the gearbox and it moved lol so yes i am chuffed with my amature mechanical skills, well i hope to pick it up any min now and the welder did say he was going to seal it with underseal,, tax her tomoz and enjoy the life of driving lazy in a automatic hehe

yeah it was marked with yellow and not big but kinda medium,,, its in garage so she be on road soon, mechanic says 160 to 170       but i really cant be arsed to mess about no more it starting to get depressing lol

yippy my omega is running and with the gamble i took with second hand gearbox and is running cool with nice smooth gear changes,, how ever i took it to get the mot done and failed on welding needed, i never had to get a car welded so im curious of what this is going to cost     here is what mot failure sheet says ,,.,.,.,.,.,NEARSIDE FRONT (CLOSE TO STEERING ARM MOUNTING POINT) STEERING COMPONENT MOUNTING PRESCRIBED IS EXESSIVELEY CORRODED [2.2.C.1G ]   ANY IDEAS ON COST IS IT BIG JOB ECT   THANKS STEVE

ok im nearly there  !!!!!!!!!!!   4days and still not done you say !
well i have had me probs but its all together with no bolts left over    but ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the last thing to do up was the linkage from the gear stick to the rod that connects to the box, ive lost the bolt and cant get it any where as it not a proper bolt if ya get me and vauxhall said thay have to get it from germany grrrrrrrrrrrrr   breakers had 6 omegas from v6 to 3,0 and a couple 2ltr but there all stacked on to other cars so cant get to them and they said it to much grief for 1 bolt, any ideas any one?

yeah i think i get another from scrap yard, i was thinking as i got the 2L eco tech is it same manifold as front wheel drive?
i had a ok day and yes i found the access hole for the t,c and was just where you said it was i just never see it till i took box of but lesson learned i guess,.,.,. yes the box thats going in has a t,c on it so will use that one.the doner box has oil in it but i will change it but should i leave old oil in there as i need to warm it up before i change it dont i or could i drain it clean filter then as it not in the car yet just fill it up with the correct amount then fit the box in. 4,7 liters i think halfords told me. god if this dont work when it all back together im going to be sooooooooooo pissed lol   

is there any thing i should know as i put new one in ?
also i cleaned the breather pipe (metal) that goes from the block to the rocker cover and did notice a tiny tiny amount of yellowish oil among dryed up oil grease crap. cleaned it but not sure bout yellow stuff.
