Omega Electrical and Audio Help / OMEGA B WIRING DIAGRAMS
« on: 20 April 2010, 08:58:12 »
Hi. Does anyone have the wiring diagrams of pre 2002 omegas? I have a friend who has the TIS 2000 (2008 version) but it unfortunately does not have any wiring diagrams of Omega Bs prior to 2002 models.

I'll change the whole system over time but till i get all the components, the stock Head unit is going back in. Thanks guys. You may have prevented me from incurring tons of expense. Thanks :D

Thanks Guys. I'm faced with a decision to revert the HU to stock or change the bose amp? Can I change the bose amp but retain the speakers or do i have to change out all of them?

Hi Guys. Just sharing that I've actually upgraded my stock HU (CCR 2006) to a Kenwood (IPOD and USB ready) 2din and it works very well with the Bose Amp and Speakers.  It was just a straightforward swap with with you still being able to control the balance (L-R) and fade (F-R) of the speakers. The drawback is that you still can't control the bose subs from the HU as the Bose system is an integrated Front Channel, Rear Channel and Sub Channel. Hope this helps
It will sound below par, the volume is less controlable, and you may well eventually smoke the HU.

I'll bear this in mind. Although I don't think I'll smoke the HU since all it will ever do is give signal to the amp via the speaker lines. As for the volume control, it seems the same. But I can only speak for my installation and I could be wrong. I'll definitely let you guys know if things go south on the HU.

erm TB.....arent you breaking a car.....

Update, then sell the ECU, Job done  :y
That had already crossed my mine, as the one in there is a V9 GS820 for 2.5 v6 ;)

I have another GS820 in the garage, but not sure if I can persuade the tech2 to convert it to a 2l map.
I managed to persuade it.  I now have 3 GS820 TCMs, one configed for 3.0l, one for 2.5l v6, and one for x20xev

:y

None of us ever doubted you'd be able to do it Jamie!  ;) ;) :y :y :y

Excellent news Mate! Please PM a quote for the X20XEV. :D

Thanks guys for your feedback. At this rate I'm bound to get the software upgrade somehow. I hope someone volunteers to host host the upgrade. ::)

Thanks mate. It was worth a try. Though I'm still open to suggestions on how to get the upgrade. Let me know if something innovative comes to mind.

I have not been able to program them outside of the car.

Thanks for your reply. I've noticed the ECU part nos for 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 are the same. I can source an ECU on ebay and have it sent you for upgrading? Is this a feasible option?

Hi. Can anyone help me get my Gearbox Software updated. I reside in the Philippines and from the threads I've been reading here, the SW Update seems worthwhile pursuing. Unfortunately, the GM dealerships here no longer support Opel/Vauxhall Cars in the Philippines. Can I just purchase a gearbox ECU at ebay and have someone program it there in the UK? Thanks and looking forward your your help.

Same as mine. So the IDENT No is like pairing with the immobilizer transponder? If he gets the whole ECU kit (ECU, Transponder and Key Chip), he should be okay, right?
No, ident is a specific model of the ECU (it may be a different revision, or may be a different config etc), thus matching the ident means it should work.  The pairing comment was simply a comment that you can't just change ECU (even with right ident) and expect it to work.

Thanks for the info TB. I think I can get the IDENT from the tech 2 tool right?
