Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: NCDC 2013 and an iPod

You are probably right about the special phone input being mono, but on the otherhand, what is exactly a lofi input. I mean, I understand the abbriviation, but how does that work? I thought it is just a normal amplifier (in build-up), so an input is an input.
I did clean the lens today and suddenly all nav disks work again, perfect! But I couldn't see anything about the connection. I didn't think it had a sort of craddle.

I am not really sure how it works, but mine has a handsfree Bluetooth Nokia set build in. When I get a call, the display shows "other input" or something similar, mutes the current music source and switches the phone to the speakers. I guess there must be an input of some kind. When I hang up, it returns to the last used source.

I have to clean the CD lenses this weekend, so I will take the unit out. Maybe I can find out more about how it is connected then.

Omega General Help / Re: Interior panel scratches off
« on: 11 July 2010, 08:43:16 »
I have the same problem on mine. It is this so-called soft-touch coating that was used in the first half of 2000 by a lot of brands. I have seen similar scratch problems on Audi's, VW, BMW and Renault.
I was thinking of taking it off myself as well, but I am a bit afraid of the result.

Thank you very much, I couldn't find it at first, but your second hint did the trick.
Now to find just one clip......

That's funny, nobody ever took them out or replaced them?

Hi, I couldn't find any info on these for the B2 but if I overlooked it, please point me in the right direction.
I noticed one of the washerjets is loose. I can pull it up and some days ago I noticed that after driving at highway speeds, it comes up, making the car look like a one eyed crab!
You understand that I would like to fix this. But pulling the jet a bit up doesn't give me any clue. It seems fine (no broken parts), but I have no idea how to fix it. The other is securely fixed, but I can't see how. Do I need a clip of some sort?

Omega General Help / Re: Door pocket replacements on a B2
« on: 10 July 2010, 23:23:09 »
I was already afraid for these answres. And I did mean the cupboards yes. There are many parts that have this soft-touch finish and all have this problem, but the cupboards have the most surface and so show the damage the most.
I also think that if you want to replace all parts, a whole doorskin is the only way and so expensive. We have to come up with an alternative. I did notice that under this rubbery stuff a high gloss lacquer is visible. I am not sure how it would look like when everything is off....

Omega General Help / Door pocket replacements on a B2

Probably like many of you, all "soft-touch" parts on mine are a bit scratched and look pretty awfull. Has anyone ever got any info on what replacements would cost, mostly for the pockets on the doors?

PS: I think the B1 door panels are of far better quality.

Hi, I just purchased a 2000 Omega 3.0 sedan auto with 147k km! As you can see I am from the Netherlands and work as a deformation expert.

All my life I have been involved in cars, owning many and also working for years for a ProMod dragracing team.
My wife is Italian, so we drive to middle Italy about 3 times a year. A few years ago I owned a 1998 MV6 station. Last car I had was a RangeRover, but this was a bit to expensive to keep so I was looking for something else. Although not my style to go for a car I already owned before, I had to think about the MV6 and how great it performed on the trips down to Italy. Even so much we decided to find another one! So here I am!
Car is in pretty good shape, but has probably been in salty and outside enviroment, as I have found some corrosion in different places.
I will have to do some maintenance so I will be needing your help.

Thanks in advance!
