would the fault code 0430 put the car into limp mode?

no worries, i pulled the bulb until i get chance to move the sensors. Just out of interest, how much am i looking at for a new precat?

Think it needs a lamba sensor moving ::)

the whole car needs moving....... back up to cambs, not just the lambda sensor  :-X

Why not update your profile with your location?  Might be good to give this car a going over with a Tech2, clearing out everything, so we have a known base to start from :y

done :)

i suppose if one of the sensors caused it to run a bit rough then it could have dropped the revs enough to stall it
Looks like you are halfway between Kevin Wood and I.  See my signature ;)

cool will bear that in mind, got a few others bits to look into first  :)

None of the above codes would cause a stall though would they?

the exhaust emission light (little engine) doesn't come on with the ignition but the engine electronics light (car+spanner) comes on and goes off when started

my 3.2 auto that i've just picked up died while trying to reverse up a slight incline out of a parking bay, it took a good few attempts and stalls before it managed it.

no eml lights came on,

what should it be idling at as it seems like there wasn't enough revs to get it up the slope.

mines idling just above 500

Black sapphire Elite's aren't rare, but there's not that many about. The wheels are the standard 17'' alloys fitted to all post '52' MV6 and Elite models.
It does look very clean, especially considering how many miles it's done...if mine ever gets to 226k I'd hope it'd look half as good as yours.
Welcome to the forum  :y

eh it's only done 94, where'd you get 226 from?

That car has had some history on here I beleive....

Just acquired a 2003 3.2 elite, must say very impressed at the minute.

More toys than hamlys, nigh on mint and a nice big LPG tank in the boot :)

The chap i got it off reckoned it was quite rare in this colour and the alloys are quite rare, was he right??

i recognise a few names on here and some might know me from VVOC

got a few Q's so speak soon :y

only just spotted this thread, glad its all sorted  :y

When it was listed for second time, i did PM all those interested to give a heads up, after the thread was locked i assumed that was it.

Just out of interest how recently did you buy it? That thread had been locked for a while.

Maybe we should look at Car Sale adds being auto deleted after certain time period?  :-/

i swapped my freelander for it on thursday afternoon, it was listed on swapz, he approached me

Youve missed my point....It was being sold as a 94k mile example here with no mention of previous engine, clocks etc

I am aware the sums dont appear to add up from what Ive seen.

ok, it's a very very slightly more honest listing then

anyone got a swapz account that could ask some Q's about the engine swap, when it happened etc

From what I have seen, that is at least a degree more honesty than has been shown here.

there is nothing honest about it at all, it was on ebay in dec 09 with 226k, it didn't have new engine then. someone has written in the service book it had new clocks and engine above the service stamp for 208k in jun 08.

i've spoken to the owner and the servicing garage at the time it didn't have either, and he owned it up till oct 08.

if it had new clocks then it wouldn't have been mot'd with 223k in sep 09

Before we go any further, this car has FULL service history upto 202k, then had a brand new engine, box and running gear fitted along with new clocks, showing 94k again with service history. This car runs like a new car and you really shouldn't let this put you off!
