Omega General Help / help with air leak please
« on: 13 October 2011, 22:29:35 »
Hello,i am having trouble with my 2.2DTI estate,it was going fine then it just refused to go on the key,i got a friend to give me a tow to start it and we got it going but was running very rough,i have just changed the fuel filter today and it was dirty,i filled the bowl with diesel and put the new filter in,it started nearly straight away, ran for a few seconds then stoped,no way would it go.so we gave it a tow and it started up but was running very bad,if i let the revs go less than 1,500rpm it just stop and wont go unless its towed again.we towed it home and i took the top of the fuel filter of to have a look again and the bowl was empty of diesel,so i must have a air leak some wherei am going to change the rubber orings in the cap tomorrow because the pipe that goes to the IN on the cap feels very slack, maybe the leak is there?or does anyone know why?thanks.

Usually the fuel filter is located quite high up on most diesel Vx's, think it's to try and create a reservoir to help 'em to start more easily...

Is the filter located up on the bulkhead? Doesn't the top just come off?
not by the look of it,also it mounted on the inner wing and realy tight for room

ok i think i know what you mean? i had a look and thought i had to remove the header tank and undo the torx bolt on top of the filter housing and just drop the bowl off,i just can not see how you get your hand in to do the job
