Hi guys, unfortunately my 2000 model (fl) MV6 decided it was going to boil itself to death and then no longer want to turn over. I imagine rather than have a full rebuild, I would be better finding an engine from somewhere but I'm not entirely sure which ones fit and don't fit. It is a 3.0 MV6 Auto.

Help and advice much appreciated, thank you :)

Omega General Help / Random pipe at rear of engine.
« on: 20 January 2011, 14:44:20 »
Whilst doing the heater matrix flush today, I found a pipe just hanging around at the back of the engine, only connected at one end, but it was just out of reach at the back of the top of the engine. From the way it was able to be moved around, it seems it was connected to another pipe or something not fixed rigid. The other end, which I found, wasn't connected to anything. Pipe was maybe 1/4 inch diameter.

Is this anything I should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance.

An update - I have just done the matrix flush as suggested, and kindly detailed in the maintenance section. Toasty warm car, thank you guys!

Thanks for your help guys, I'll give that a go.

I just wish the pictures would load from the site so I could see the maintenance guides.

Omega General Help / No heat fromheater

Hi Guys,
Had my MV6 a few days now, but only just noticed the heaters don't provide any heat at all.Is there anything I should be checking first?
The fans work, but the air coming through seems to be about the same as the outside temp. The coolant level is at max, the gauge sits in the middle (around 80).

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies. Taking into account everything that's been said here, I think I'll go ahead and try just removing the backbox and see if that gives a satisfactory result.  :y

Hi Guys,
I bought a V6 because I like the sound. I'm not a boy racer or a chav etc, and was wondering if freeing up some of the delicious V6 sound by decatting and removing the middlebox has any consequences I should be aware of?
Any other suggestions also welcome.

Omega General Help / Should it have an LSD?
« on: 12 January 2011, 18:44:33 »
Hi Guys,
So I just got my Omega 3.0 MV6 Auto, and in an "experiment", it seems only one wheel spins. I assumed, maybe incorrectly that the MV6 had an LSD. Can anybody shed any light on this.

Love the car so far although it sounds like I have a leaky vacuum hose somewhere, and it smells a bit hot after a gentle drive.

Hi Matthew,
No mine is a silver facelift saloon on a W plate.

I have to say I'm quite looking forward to being in a RWD again. My previous cars were nearly all FWD. Power oversteer is so much more satisfying than lift off oversteer......I'm sure all of you know this already  :P

What a friendly bunch you are, thanks for the welcomes.

Hopefully my car is ready for collection today  :D

Will get pics up when it arrives.

Anyone know why I'm not seeing avatars or pictures on the forum?
