As for new cars versus older models, we recently visited several dealerships (mainly BMW and Audi) with a view to replacing one of ours. I can honestly say that nothing took my fancy, and I never thought I’d ever say that. Ridiculous dashboards that extended to the passenger side and looking tacky did nothing for us, and most exteriors have gone weird, so I’m sticking with what I’ve got.
I was recently having a similar discussion with a petrolhead colleague, and neither of us could name any new (or near new, for that matter) sensible car either of us would want at any price, let alone what you have to pay for a new car.

It left us quite depressed, as when our current cars need replacing, there isn't much to replace them with.

It has started.

Fill your cars up!

Yep, just done that given the latest news.  I will always remember the 1973 fuel crisis, and those smaller ones afterwards, and in those days I was doing big business miles.  The number of queues I joined in my Mk1 Escort!!   Today there were no queues and the filling station was very quiet, so I suppose the panic will take affect later, and I am the start of it!::) ::) :P

The new Rad might come with plastic bungs in those holes. I think mine did.

Did yesterday by chance.

As long as the Russians keep their nose out of it it should be pretty swift. Iran needs a new regime.

Is this the best way of going about it? Probably not ideal, but the Iranian management aren't particularly talkative.

We've probably got 30 people stuck in Amman and Tel Aviv unless company had the foresight to get them out last night.

It seems that very few people indeed have any clue whatsoever, how to drive these days.
Im making a concerted effort not to get mad about it any more, because its just so common I would be permanently in a state of anger on the roads.
Im also too old to get out and smack someone when they do something really dangerous, which happens on a daily basis.  ;D

Yep, fuel prices will probably go through the roof for a while.  ::)
If this can bring down the regime it will be a good thing for the world, but for some reason I doubt it will. :-\

The drivers (well, one of the drivers) in front of me who were travelling at 60mph but decided to come to a complete standstill because an Ambulance on blues and twos was approaching from behind. With heavy traffic coming from the opposite direction, the Ambulance was stuck. Well, until a driver coming from the opposite direction had the foresight to give them space to continue.  ::)
Why don’t drivers just keep moving and allow the emergency vehicle to pass when it’s safe to do so. At least that way, the emergency vehicle is still making progress, and my blood pressure wouldn’t rise due to screaming at the driver who stopped.
I honestly think that they should run adverts to publicise this more, as some drivers just panic.

It never ceases to amaze me how some drivers are like a deer in the headlights as soon as something unexpected happens. Had 2 of these idiots stop, adjacent to each other, on a single carriageway on my commute recently, completely blocking the way.

Thanks Doctor - so coolant won 't come pouring out?

the holes are where the transmission fluid would flow through hence no coolant will 'pour out'  :y
