First Ive heard of this (other than NCDC20xx), must try it next time I fire up the Omega. When are they going to develop a version which increases volume according to the level of talking from the passenger seat ?  :-X ::) ;D
That is why it is essential to have factory fit stereo, so the steering wheel controls work.

My son's 2001 Vectra Sri 130, daughter's 1998 Corsa Breeze 1.4 and my old 1998 Vectra Sri 2.0 all have/had this feature.  Find it quite handy myself.

As far as I know, from the early/mid 90's all Vauxhall standard headunits all have SDVC.

I noticed the stereo volume increasing with road speed around the same time as they stopped having mechanical speedo cables.
All Vx's do it, from a Corsa up to Vectra's etc...

Makes a lot of sense, this MV6 was my first FBW Vauxhall with an original stereo, the vectra Y26SE's  I had back then already had the cd ripped out.
