Never knew CCR2006 did this...
« on: 08 July 2012, 23:29:58 »

Finally able to get about and drive after fixing the car yesterday and the long drive to a funeral today I realised that the stereo actually increases / decreases volume with car speed / revs. This is a lovely feature, especially when you are opening up the car for the first time and the tune is good!

Is this standard? My 2000 MV never did this on a CCR2006.. Mind you that never read CD's all that well either..

Speed depart volume...? Or whatever it's called. Ncdc's have it as well. Works well IMO.

Not sure which other models have it though.

Aaah, it's a nice feature. Only seen it on newer (or aftermarket) units. Would be good to hear when it came in and what other changes the final 02-03 cohort received.

On a CCR2006  press and hold down the tuner button until it beeps. The display then shows something like "SD VOL +2". Adjust the number by pressing the < or > buttons (from 0 to 5, IIRC). When it displays "SD VOL +0" the auto vol control is switched off. To storre the setting, press and hold Tuner again until it beeps.

Not a new feature though.
My 93 Carlton with the  Grundig 4870rds had this feature.

I find 3 being optimum setting. Depends how noisy your tyres are though. :)

All standard Omega stereos have always had SDVC (GM's term for it).

First Ive heard of this (other than NCDC20xx), must try it next time I fire up the Omega. When are they going to develop a version which increases volume according to the level of talking from the passenger seat ?  :-X ::) ;D

As far as I know, from the early/mid 90's all Vauxhall standard headunits all have SDVC.

Mine is set on 2, but for some strange reason, i can hear a static pop when it goes past around 27/28mph and again around 58/59mph and again at around 80/90mph. Maybe its the age of the HU, mine is the old style CDR2005  :y
