I went several times when I lived in Beds / Herts between mid nineties to eight years ago.
Fascinating place that you really cant cover in one visit.
The Aircraft are astounding but the land warfare areas were very well laid out , the WW1 display in particular.
I can recall a midget submarine and the V1 launch pad too.
One thing would be interesting to know . When I was last there whilst walking through the workshop/ restoration area there was a carcase of a  Mitsubushi Zero , or what could loosly be recognised as one , laying out on the floor . It cosisted of a few parts of the fusilage and a couple of wing braces . The Engineer said that it would be rebuilt as per original drawings in about 5 years .
Is it complete and on display ?
Well worth a visit , or two...... :y
And on that note don't forget the RAF museum at Hendon another incredibly interesting place to visit.
