Cirtainly not impossible to read outdoors. Fine in bright sun light. Only time I've had issues outside is with sunglasses on.

Yep, display technology on an E-reader is 100's of times better for 'reading' than a tablet as it is designed for the function.

I find reading on standard displays ( e.g. not e-paper) tiring and much harder to digest the written word.

So for pissing about, tablet, for reading, e-reader

Irony is, the most reading I do is on the web.

+1 , don't really have time to read old fashioned books, Apart from Total Vauxhall occasionally which is as close as a book i get to these days
