Have you looked at the rubber grommet that the wires goes through in the gutter of the boot. That's where I would look first.  :y

I have had the same problem for some time.

Have a look at the seam between the panels ,usually hidden by the boot lid, above the spare wheel well, near the rear windscreen. Tests with a watering can have shown ingress from there. I have tried applying silicon sealant there a few times, it stays dry for a while but comes back after a few months.

I am now thinking of simply drilling a drain hole at the lowest point in the wheel well to let the water escape.

Do a simple test with a watering can before buying anything.

Obviously wait for a dry day,dry out the wheel well and stick some paper towel on the walls of the wheel well, I suggest well forward near the panel seam, then with the boot open pour plenty of water from the very corner of the screen for a while, the towel will show you roughly where its coming in.à

Get into the boot with a good torch while someone else does the watering on the outside.  :y

I had to use paper towels because I don't have any friends. I use them for some other stuff too. :y
