Coolant Flush Questions
« on: 25 June 2014, 15:55:42 »

Hola guys!  :y
OK the questions are coming thick and fast now as I TLC my Miggy Queen to the Max... ::)
If there is an coolant flush on the cards...(Mine for sure as it's almost like cloudy coffee! :-[) Then I've read a few posts about the fact that the new flush water doesn't go around the whole engine and heater matrix if the Thermostat is closed. So ...Heres my questions:

1. Open/Close thermostat? Does that mean remove it when flushing or is there a switch or something that does the job.
1a. If the thermostat is removed/closed then will the flush go to the heater matrix too?
2. I'm not near a hose pipe so can this be done manually through bottles of water?
3 Which is the best maintenence guide to follow for the flush here on the forum?

Cheers everyone  :y

Have you checked your oil cooler is ok as this is a sign that it may be on its way, or it could be that the coolant has never been changed  :-\
There is a make called forte that is very good at cleaning :y
1a the water will go in the matrix if the heat is set to max and eventually the stat will open so it will go right round the engine too :y

Take it this is the same car that the Garage said you had a Head Gasket fail?

Did you check the Oil Cooler as suggested last week?, if your cooler has gone doing a flush is a bit pointless until its fixed.
