New emissions rules.
« on: 26 September 2008, 01:16:24 »

Brussels have just voted to have a compulsory 17% cut in emmisions within the next 4 years. I think it will apply to new cars only. :-/

at some point in the near future our glorious, steadfast, and reliable leaders will impose some sort of retrospective tax that will help us to see that the way forward is to burden ourself with yet more good quality, high interest loans, supplied of course by a friendly banker to who risk is a 4 lettered word that has no meaning as his bonus will be greater than the balance of payments of a 3rd world country........

hmmmm.....i may be a little sour today......wonder why  :-/ could it have anything to do with my personal freedom to make decisions going down the tubes.....or am i just blowing things out of proportion

Wasn't there a directive saying new cars should have a CO2 output of 150 g/km or less averaged across the manufacturer's range? I think the car industry are fighting it at the moment. Not a problem for companies that only make "sit up and beg" shopping trolleys but it makes me wonder if Bentley, Aston Martin, etc. are going to have to make a load of golf carts to bring their averages down.

As siad, whatever happened to freedom of choice. At least we can still build cars, so if I can't buy what I want I'll go that route, and they'll never know how many g/km I'm putting out. >:(

The ID database terrifies me - enough that I would consider emigrating if it comes in.

I will refuse to be fingerprinted and DNA checked.

This is NOT the Sovient Union no matter how much Stalin Brown, Meg Hitler And Jackboot Smith want it to be >:(

Oh God help me Jay, here I go off on one again...........!!!!!! :o :o :o

F.A.Hayek warned in his book of 1944, The Road To Serfdom that socialism, by its very nature, will always lead to high borrowing, increasing State control, and finally the destruction of individual freedoms.

This is exactly what has happened over the last 11 years of New Labour in power with individual rights and those of the entire Nation being erradicated to a point where we have little say in how our lives are governed, with far greater number of the electrate failing to vote at each successive General Election as they are increasingly perceiving that there is little point in doing so.

This proud Nation now requires urgently a change of government to a new order, which I personally think should be radiclal with a combined Platoist / Hobbesian, neo-capitalist social system.  This is radical, and may be far too strong for many to take and will take time to construct.

So from a 2008 practical point of view all we need is a strong British Government that managers the affairs of the British citizens, protecting their rights, but ridding us all of the 'nanny state', whilst managing the economy by dedicated policies of development to encourage British intitiative, industry and outlook. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) :y

Whilst we should work closely with Europe, we should remain a separate multi-cultural state outside whatever Federal regime they envisage, working more closely with not only the USA, but China, India, and other rising 'new World powers'. :y :y :y

Citizens un-chain ourselves!!
