On Yer Bike near waddesdon? Used them when they were in Aylesbury, thought they got a bit expensive when they moved out to Happy Eater place at Waddesdon

I rode bikes full time for over 10 years - never needed them.

Worth trying that place at Northampton as well, or even the 2 bike shops in town ;)

Although the need for ear plugs isn't too great at low speed you are best to get into the habit of wearing them. Constant wind noise is a real killer for hearing in the long term.

i see no point repeating whats been said as its all sound advice, only thing i'd add is if your winter riding, or doing long journeys some winter gloves, or handlebar muffs aren;t a bad idea, i've had wet gloves before, and ten minutes in the winter at 70 in those made me want to cry my hands hurt so much from the cold (actually pulled in to a service station and spent 20 minutes at the hand dryer in the bogs). Also worth getting is a primaloft top. Can pick them up in outdoor shops for bout 50 to £100, they are very light, but super warm even when wet, so work great under jackets.

Remember, you can be as safe as you like, its the other idiots you got to look out for, car drivers are cocooned, and on a wintwr morning just wont see you, so good kits a must.

Your road awareness in your car should get better though as a bike rider.

If you don't mind having th emickey taken - get 4 bread bags, turn 2 inside out, put the other two inside them, pull over gloves.

Your hands will never get wet or cold

Where abouts is that? One on the high street won't be getting my money if i can avoid it, they recommended the idiot instructor. Might try the place i took the CBT at, they had a nice big clothes section up stairs.
