Halfords Trade cards through VXON
« on: 18 March 2009, 15:39:34 »

Had a few emails through, thought I'd spread the word to any one intersted.

If you had a Halfords trade card issued through VXON, and are NOT a current member, the will be disabled on 29th March.

Time to blag a real one, handy to have, not that it gets a lot of use any more.

If you have a genuine VX Tradeclub card (not the one from ABS), then its much easier to get the Halfords card :)

I'm shocked at the prices Hellfrauds sell things for I went to get an oil filter and air filter for my dads Rover and they wanted £21.00 they didn't even know which ones were the correct ones either!

Went to the local motor factors and got the correct ones for £10.40 the brand is Wix which I believe is of reasonable quality.

Even with a Hellfrauds trade card I struggle to believe they'd be half price.

Told my Dad to buy a Vauxhall if he carries on driving then at least I can buy the parts at sensible prices.

I got these emails too, not sure if I could blag one really.  How have you guys managed to get one?  Might just pay the £15 its still a good deal if you buy any bulbs and wipers etc.

The discounts on service items are pretty good.  Wiper sets normally come out around £6 per pair, a £2.99 bulb set comes out at 40p, Wynns carb cleaner (better than the normal crap that most motorist centres sell) £2.80 (from £5).

The way VxON set it up, it was always going to be open to abuse, and eventually Halfords would (and have) pulled the plug on it.

yes there is no need to do this if you hold your OWN TC not an Owners Club Card you can visit the halfords store and furnish them with your trade card & a proof of buisness ie letter headed paper just like you provided vauxhall when you got your card ::)

And you will be given a trade card  :y :y :y i have had one since halfords started it back in 2006

must say though that Trade club is still cheaper on everything! and i know halfords would price compete but i would rather still use genuine parts

Can't remember the last time I went to Halfrauds so I won't be bothering.

Im in 2 minds, but it has had a fair bit of use in the past.

Sure I can blag one, have enough trade invoices from vauxhall in my company name, plus i pay on account as well now!  so must look legit  ;D

Just ask, you get a yes or no  ;D

If you have a good relationship, you have a chance.

I got mine by, always going in with the little fella (4)  he always carried my abs card, the staff love hm and always make a point of checking it for him, after it ran out, I just said, "Oh, I need to renew that, or you couldnt give me a real one could you?"  and they gave me a form, filled and faxed, nothing came of it, i queried next time I went in, and they gave me a trade number there and then, card arrived a few days later  :y

If you can get your dealer parts code it's just a matter of filling in the form and faxing it to Luton.
That's what my parts dept. did, gave me the form and number and told me to fax it.
A few weeks later the welcome pack hit the doormat.
