Fate is so cruel.
« on: 20 March 2009, 19:29:39 »

We were going to go to a late Paddy's Night do at our little golf club on Saturday but were horrified to learn yesterday that the wife of one of the party, a close friend, was taken ill and died suddenly, allegedly from some form of virus.
Life is so, so cruel! She was a nursing sister working permanently in the local A & E dept. and was the most vibrant, fun loving person you could wish to meet. And she was only 34.
We don't know the full story yet, but it makes you wonder whether these hospital environments are safe places to work in. Her husband is obviously devastated, and we just can't take it in.
We don't know what to do to help him, other than be available if needed.

I was speaking with a friend of a friend who is a male nurse. He had his arm bandaged up and had been off work for three months after getting a slight scratch on his hand whilst at work.
He nearly lost his arm :o

Sorry to hear that, death is never easy, sudden unexpected loss is hard to deal with  :'(

Yes, fate can be cruel. But, as you say, the full story is yet to unfold. Whatever the cause to pass at such a young age is doubly saddening.

My thoughts and sympathies go out to the family and friends.

Oh, that`s very shocking and upsetting news Bill.
As the old saying goes "You never know the minute" :'(

Although it can feel very difficult to make personal contact with so recently a bereaved; I would always make a point of going to visit and pay my respects....even for just a few minutes over a cup of tea; it`s just those times when being a chum means being a real friend. :y

Well unfortuanetly she was old and didnt trust ""modern medicine"".

So my wife said they had too give her her own knife/fork/spoon/cup/towel...endless list so she didnt spread it too others.

Terrible way too live.
