Cash is King right now - hold onto cash. Even though you dont get much for it in intrest.

My mortgage has also crashed through the floor but still paying it at my old rate - will be mortgage free before i am 40.

Currently paying more in Ebay fees each month than my mortgage  :o

New washing machine time then Dusty??!! :D :D :D :D ;) ;)

For the last two weeks Lizzie ,I have been washing the clothes in the bath. :-/
Mr Dusty does not help as he says that washing clothes is "womens work".  :-/ :-/
sooner rather than later Mr Dusty WILL BUY ME a new washing machine. :-/ :-/ :-/
He is very good to me in many ways ,but,he will not do any cooking, cleaning or other domestic chores. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-* :-* :-*

When/if I get my book published , Mr Dusty will have none of the money. ;D ;D ;D :-* :-* :-* :-*

Our mortgage has been on a fixed rate of 5.99% for the last two years. :-/ :-/
Today ,we received a letter from Bristol and West informing us ,that from next month we will be paying the SVR of 2.99% :y
This saves us £184 each month. :y :y :-* :-* :-*
We still have to pay over £700 each month, but it is welcome news in these hard times.

With low interest rates ,and falling house prices,it is a good time to buy. That is if the banks will lend. :-* :-* :-* :-*
:-?I am paying £197/month Council Tax!
I'm not far off that, and all we get here is our bins emptied 26 tines a year  >:(
I get mine both weekly but that's only because the Council had to buy a special, smaller truck that would fit down the narrow lanes in the district, otherwise they planned to make us revert to plastic bags (to which we objected vociferously)
Apart from that we get nothing for the money - no street sweeping, never seen a Copper (unless son-in-law visits off duty), I can't swim so don't use the pool, kids are 32 & 34 so don't attend school.
Perhaps Council Tax should be charged on what services are used by those who pay them?
Discuss......

Look out for the truant officers .They are very hot on non- attendance these days . ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :-* :-* :-*

Sounds to me Dusty as though it is time for industrial action with a good old fashioned strike!! :-X :-X :-X

The eight demands on the management I suggest should be:
 1.  Equally shared domestic responsibilities
 2.  Equal pay & conditions
 3.  The banning of slave labour (including sex)
 4.  Maximum 30 hour working week
 5.  All Bank Holidays work free
 6.  Sundays and bank holidays - breakfast in bed for you
 7.  Minimum 10 weeks holiday a year
 8.  All domestic appliances (washing Machines) supplied and ready on demand, with replacements supplied within 24 hours of failure

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I'll always be your shop steward!! :D :D :D ;)

Keep paying the higher payments if you can.
We kept paying the higher one when the rate reduced, lowers your overall term you have to pay.
Glad my house is paid for...........then interest rate was up to 15%
