I think this has been done enough now

Its good to know the Admin Team have the support of the bulk of the membership, it helps us know we are getting things right (and, conversely wrong in some areas).
It is also refreshing, after the week or so OOF has endured, that there does appear to be common sense and decency within the community, a community that seemed to be driving people away, rather than encouraging the community to grow - I know I was a whisker away from jacking it all in, and I know from msgs to me that I was not alone.
Sadly, I would like to say I am sorry for the heavy handed, Draconian measures taken on Wednesday evening,
but I'm not. I believed it was necessaryb at that point in time. Feelings and tempers were running high and it was a way to enforce
everyone here, not just those embriolled in the nastiness, to sit back and take stock. It also allowed our dedicated Admins to clean up the mess, instead of firefighting.
As to privacy, to clear this up once and for all, like any website owner, the Admins have access to any info that we collect from you - some is stored encrypted, some isn't. Never checked if the encryption is a one way or 2 way hash - if the latter, should be easy to unencrypt, if the former, I'm guessing cracking wouldn't be that difficult, seeing as we have the source code.
To be honest, the Admins have better things to do then spy on members. But we could/do have access to certain info, and will do whatever is necessary to protect the site, and its values. We have lots of scripts that do lots of analysis to help us with protecting, improving and monitoring the site and the server.
Remember, this is no different to any other service in that respect. Your emails are already stored for 6months (soon to be 2yrs), IMs are monitored, as are phone records. In fact OOF info is probably much less monitored than any commercial system, as only admins (and authorities with a warrant) have the access.
Locked.
