Sky to freesat advice please
« on: 26 May 2009, 16:34:08 »

Can anybody tell me whether I can simply reuse my existing Sky dish and cables if I move to a TV with freesat built in or a new freesat box.

I have, up to now, assumed that I can but I would like to be sure.

Many Thanks

Depends on what you want to do.

If you want the actual Freesat service change the box, if you are happy with what you get when the card finishes keep it.

HOWEVER the Sky PVR will NOT work without coughing up money, so you would need to upgrade to the Humax HDR.

BTW same constellation is used so the sky dish should work.

Thanks for the info.

I want to reuse as much of my existing kit as possible when i change my TV and am trying to decide whether to simply upgrade my sky box to HD+ or to go to a no contract based service with a built in freesat or independent box such as the Humax HDR

Killerwatt, excuse my ignorance. I don't know what VM stands for. I work in IT and can't get virtual machine out of my head.

Thanks
