I'm free thursday and its only just down the road from me, I have a decent basic knowledge on the mechanical side, but I know nothing about LPG systems. Willing to go Thursday or even tom night.

Bought a 2000 registered 3.0 a year ago which admittedly was a mini facelift, on LPG for a fair bit less than that.

If I was in your situation and you really are up for buying it? I would get Elite-Pete and Loo-Knee to have a look at it for you as they seem to know these cars inside out, maybe for a few beer tokens !.

As far as the LPG is concerned, if it runs ok when cold and hot and accelerates cleanly you would hopefully be ok IMHO. A decent LPG service is around £90 as I recall.

Kingycos if you are closer and can get there easily then you can probably say as much as me about it and save me a trip.

I can go but will probably be Friday before I can go.

That's great.
I wasn't here for 2 days. I lost internet connection because storm blew up power adaptor to my wireless router but I managed to get temporary USB modem. So I am back  ;D

If it is in good mechanical condition and runs ok on lpg when cold and hot that's all I need. looking forward to what you will say about it.  :y

Just bought my 2000 MV6, and done every conceivable job on the engine - for well, well under half the price of this one.

In fairness, my labour is free to me so no big deal - but, you wouldn't catch me paying £2k for a 2000 Omega.

ESPECIALLY an LPG one - I've not seen a half decent dealer install yet - Aside of Entwoods.

It's all down to personal preference - I've stated mine - yours may be different - it just depends what it's worth to YOU  :y

Dans was pretty bad wasn't it?

With DIY you can plan what you do

Anyone seen this car yet?

Price seems to be already a bit high (1800) but if it is in good condition I would give even little more  :)

just an idea..

if I were you, I wont look lpg miggies for high prices..

Why, the reason is imho, miggies are complicated cars even without LPG..

so , instead I would try to find one which is mechanically well looked (as much as possible) and have receipts of changed parts..

After some check buy OOFers I would buy it..

Then try to learn the "character" of the car..

and lpg it by the help of experts here..

which will be simpler to solve in case of any problem.. :y

This sounds like very good idea and I was thinking the exactly the same way when I started to think about buying omega. The thing is that I would have to pay probably about 1300 for fl 3.0 elite and then another 1000 for LPG (correct me if I am wrong) That would make even more than 2000 and would give me a lot of hassle. the other thing is that I don't have much knowledge about LPG conversion and don't have tools or space to do it. As far as I am aware LPG conversion is quite complicated and I don't believe that DIY is the best method. I think that it should be dome by professionals (who have done it many times before). I do realise that finding the right people for the job for acceptable money might be a big issue.

Sorry Witor I didn't bother because kingycos was closer and said that he was going. I can't make it today either I'm afraid.

Hopefully kingycos has been and will be here shortly.  :y

I think your only one chance is to buy from an oof owner where all the history and service life is known..

but from a dealer chances are likely very low to find a good lpgd car..

imho first focusing on a well looked mint car is of primary goal..

then you can buy some good quality set..and ask for some professional help from here.. :y
