Cheers Jimbob for the info

I have just been on the website you got your info from and checked the availabilty for where I am here is the results.

For Telephone Number 01462****** on Exchange SHILLINGTON

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a line rate up to 512Kbps. However, due to the length of your line, an engineer visit may be required, who will, where possible, supply the broadband service.

Our test also indicates that your line should be able to support a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 500Kbps or greater.

The actual ADSL Max line rate supportable will be determined during the first 10 days of use, after which time the highest stable rate possible will be set.

If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable for the service you wish to purchase.

Thank you for your interest.

Would you say this is good or bad, thought i'd post this up as you know more about it than I do.

Cya Roy, you'll soon have DSL I'm sure ;)

Jimbob - virtually all suppliers only do Max now, Zen included ;)

ECO - there's a blast from the past - I used to support those servers a few years ago....

As stated, if you go for an MAX type provider, you will get as much as you can,

So find a provider that gives what you want, be wary of small usage caps, and go for it and hope for the best.

out of interest, my results from btwholesale are :

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a line rate up to 1Mbps. However due to the length of your line the 1Mbps service may require an engineer visit who will, where possible, supply the broadband service.

Our test also indicates that your line should be able to support a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 1.5Mbps or greater.

So, my old line, at the old max for 1meg shows I can maybe get 1.5, so you must be further from your exchange than I am, so will likely be slower :(

bit more info on your exhange here : http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange.php?ecode=SMSGN

Good luck

One of my lines....

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a line rate up to 2Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line should be able to support a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 8Mbps.
