When I was growing up Paul McCartney was the coolest dude on the Planet.

Still love to see him doing the Beatles stuff and long may he continue.

I watched a documentry a few years back about Lennon on the Anniversary of his death.
I instantly became a fan of his.
I thought "HOW?" was a brilliant tune :y

as for McCartney be it if you think he is good or not he must have more money than you can shake a stick at :o

Or a wooden leg off an ex......

I remember people kept playing Beatles records when I was small - I think they were big in the very late 60s.

I didn't like them.

First chart song I ever heard that I liked was Riders of the Storm on its original release.

After that next song I liked was Slade Merry Christmas

I liked Macca's stuff with wings but not his recent stuff. Liked John Lennon's solo work and also a fan of George Harrison's solo work. Harrison prob my favourite Beatle, his last album Brainwashed is superb :y

::)It's a shame so many younger people don't appreciate what Macartney accomplished with the Beatles; I wish I could have swapped one week of his live in the 60's- massive US stadium concerts, parties, women etc..they knew how to live back then! ::)

Anyone seen the "concert for george" dvd done on the anniversary of his death and with eric clapton at the helm. Featuring many old hands who he'd played with over the years there are times when there are 2 drummers and about 6 guitar players all playing together. It should be a mess but thses guys know exactly when/when not to play-could certainly show a lot of "modern" bands a thing or two. Oh-its also got Tom Hanks like a kid in a toy shop performing with most of Monty Python. IMO brilliant, funny and moving and a fitting tribute. For any more Beatle fans out there I can thoroughly recommend Ian Macdonald's "revolution in the head" for his commentry on the band and their music :y

I have watched "the concert for george " several times, absolutely outstanding imo. :y
Claptons renditions of While my guitar gently weeps  and Isnt it a pity are superb.
Btw,did you know that he actually played the lead guitar on the original Beatles version of while my guitar gently weeps ? I think he was around 22 at the time.A true legend. 8-)
