Ahhh Florida Sunshine stage plates, when i was there i had a Nissan, not sure what it was called but was the size of a Focus. Lots of hire cars were from European companies, although next hire car in LA was a Pontiac Grand Prix, that actually went around corners  :o :o

Came at a price though, averaged 11mpg  ;D

Uncles wife over there had a W12 Passat, which was quite nice, very, very smooth.

Petrol is cheap there, but with the poor mpg, its much the same costs as UK i think

Dont forget though that a US Gallon is not the same as a UK Gallon.

So 11mpg is not 11mpg on a gallon of UK measurement.

Indeed.  Google tells me it is: 1 US gallon = 0.83267384 Imperial gallons

so its even worse then compared to UK, as they have more per gallon delivered at the pump, but still get worse mpg.

Because they have what seems to be sensible 16 fl/oz in their pint rather than our 20 fl/oz in our pint.  :-/
