Mods: Can I start a for sale thread here?
« on: 19 November 2010, 21:45:29 »

I've been here for 18 months but have only 150 posts to my name, 100 or now 99 short of using the 'For Sale' section. I want to sell my Omega and was wondering if I could start a thread here?

Thanks

Sorry. weve had to take the decision that time doesnt matter, but post count, to 'prove a character' is the best indicator we have sorry.

We can only apologise that a minority of bad sellers have forced us into this postion.

SMD -- start a few controversial threads in General discussion ---- soon get up another 100 or so posts.

But don't get TOO controversial or you might get culled!!!!

Just have a few good yarns -- it soon mounts up

I know the feeling SMD. I too have been on here over a year to date, I too have an Elite I would like to offer, but, I too do not have the required 'post count'.
I have often thought, 'this old Elite would do someone a good turn, either as spares or, as a good motor with a little TLC', but no doubt it will be bought locally by an illegal immigrant, thrashed and trashed within a couple of weeks ??? But, rules are rules, and I understand completely why this one has been made, although, in my honest opinion it is a tad high. I think that an unscrupulous seller who has no affection for the Miggy, wouldn't bother ammassing even 150 post counts ??
But I'll keep plodding on, adding a comment wherever I think I might have something of worth to say....  ;)

Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

It used to be lower, but was deemed to low due to a couple of 'newbies' posting vast quantities of crap / useless questions causing a lot of annoyance, we received many complaints  :'(

We agree, its not an ideal solution, unfortunately its not an ideal world, so these rules were put in place to try and protect the integrity of the forum.

I really do feel for the people in your boat, long time members, who dont post much, but therefore dont qualify.

Many arguments on both camps, but we are, where we are currently.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

That said, this is not a good arena to sell your omega, most here have one, and aren't looking for another, ebay, autotrader etc have a far better audience, and will likely get you a better price than you would here.
Parts, a very different story, its a good market here.

IF you see someone wanting a car, and you think yours fits the bill, there is nothing to stop you sending a PM offering yours  :y  That is obviously private between the 2 of you, and there would be no reason for OOF to get involved.
