About to have a go at a slow cooker too, so expecting some breakups in that dept

I have that - it's good stuff

However.. &^%$ *^!&*@£% *&!^@ I left for work this morning and forgot to put the damned slow cooker on!

Wonder if it'll all still be OK tomorrow morning or if I'll just have a chilled bowl of festering food.

Priceless - although you're right to be concerned, depends on the ambient temperature of your kitchen I suppose.

It warrants a good old sniff all the same before using it (although the acidity of the tomatoes may help to delay any decline into bowel-wrenching qualities) and I would cook it off in the oven immediately you get home.

Ah it's been in the fridge all night.. which is where it remains, sadly! So it's been at a frigid ~0C since 10pm last night.

Ah it's been in the fridge all night.. which is where it remains, sadly! So it's been at a frigid ~0C since 10pm last night.

I would happily enjoy it with some good quality bread and a glass of nice heavy red upon getting home in that case. 8-)

i love to cook and have done most of the cooking in our house since me and mrs bertie started living together....and i have even considered taking a cookery course at the local college as i would like to know how to cook properly and even try my hand at beef wellington and other dishes i have drooled at when channel hopping the cookery channels at night.....

The casserole was a success! Well, sort of.. I came home at lunchtime as I was feeling quite out of sorts (read: bloody awful) - but at least that gave me a chance to stick the slow cooker on!

6hrs later and what came out was not exactly what I'd call a casserole, but that's because it contained tinned toms and not. .. whatever the heck you make a casserole out of. Anyway, quite tasty with some steamed baby corn, sugar snap peas, spinach and home made chilli potato wedges. Oh, and some Reggae Reggae sauce.

How I just need to find some containers to freeze all the leftovers!
