Sky Coax Cable?

On the original box the installed a single coax cable/

On the HD it is a dual core cable for the twin tuners.  During the summer it is my intention to have cables from the LNB added for both bedrooms and may end up fitting an Oct LNB as there will be Sky HD in one bed room and my dual tuner DVD recorder in the living room, then an input on each TV, then at least 1 computer TV card in the bedroom and maybe in the living room as well, and thats before the 2nd bedroom gets cabled up.

My question is, do they do 4 core coax that is suitable from the LNB for the Fresat and HD etc.  or even 6 or 8 core to allow for tidyness and flexibility.

I have seen 5 core satellite coax in the past but it was pretty big and ugly. I would just go with individual coax or shotgun twin cable, TBH.

You can reduce the wiring to the dish by using a quad output LNB into a switch that will give the required number of outputs in the house.

There are only ever 4 possible modes an LNB channel works in so a quad LNB followed by a switch to select the required configuration for each output still allows as much flexibility as an octal LNB. Probably a more expensive route, though as the switches tend to be disproportionately expensive.

I'll be doing the same shortly... Currently have a Quad LNB feeding the HD box in the lounge and the Sky+ box in the bedroom. Need another feed into the lounge as the TV has Freesat HD built in and it would be nice to have the ability to tune to a 3rd channel in the lounge when recording 2 programmes at the same time :y

So basically then, If I had a single cable to Living room, then the 2 bedrooms and then 1 to the kitchen.  I could then add a 6 way switch to the bedroom and have 1 x TV, 2 DVR feed, 2 HD Sky and 1 into a TV card in the computer.

Then a 4 way in the living room  1 x TV, 2 x DVR and 1 x MCE if I ever get round to building one.

I use one of these in the loft:

Works very well!

Supports Sky plus in the lounge plus an additional 2 other sky outputs. Also distributes all RF signals to all outputs and supports remote eye control of sky boxes (and via an alternative system any IR device in the main room).

Requires only a single quality coax to all secondary rooms and a twin to the main room.

Simples!

Crazy thing is Chris I have hardly watched any TV in the last few weeks.

I just want any many possible options to record coz when there is something good on then 2 channels not enough, so if I have 2 x sky channels recording then I have multiple options regards freesat for non sky only channels.  Plus half the time I stumble on something  I can just click record, and it would be nice to be able to record the likes of top gear straight to a PC and be able to archieve only the bits I realy like.
