can't see Sky News being closed, that would leave only two players in UK news, BBC & ITV/Channel 4's ITN.

My personal belief, is he is buying it back to give to his daughter to run. All his Son's have an empire each, but he had a big bust up with Elizabeth, who once run Sky. But he wanted a man (one of his sons) to run Sky, so she left...

Sky news is reporting that he is selling off the news channe. :y
Whatever we may think off him, hes a clever man. He has made billions from "dirty laundry". ;)
Personally I think the world would be a much better place without him and his kind.Dumbing down, lowest common denominator stuff is his speciality. :(

Selling off is quite possible, not closed as mentioned earlier....

Not sure how it would work, News ties in closely with other departments such as mobile  :-/

From what Ive been reading in recent months he seriously considered shutting the news channel, but has apparently decided to sell most of it off. BSB will retain a minority holding, but what links remain with other depts. remains to be seen.

Wonder what would happen if he did try to close it, big job losses we would only have two news providers left, surely thats a bad thing?  :-/

Such trivial matters wouldnt worry uncle Rupert. The media world is littered with the corpses which result from his ambitions. He was in a different queue altogether when they were handing out social consciences. ;) :D
