Hang on I can't tell the difference between an engineer and a technician. They both look the same to me?

And what on earth is a 3ngin33r ? Is that some text speak ?   ;D ;D ;D

Oh dear - I now have the unfortunate task (in fact, decidely risky - for me) of telling the wife she is now longer a domestic 3ngin33r ( for all those who remember the DLT radio show), but is in fact only a Domestic Technician.

Perhaps I should take the safe route - Domestic Godess? (Or is that downgraded to Domestic minor God) ;)

My job title for a while was "Network Support E n g i n e e r" and then "Enterprise Network E n g i n e e r" - not that I ever passed a degree in 'Computer Engineering', but I could still run rings around most (if not all) of the graduates we hired into the same positions.. suppose I should be a Technician too eh? Not on your life ;)

Now I'm a "Data Analyst" which sounds much less exciting ;D

In light of this justifiable distinction, what about all of the social engineering carried out by the last series of Labour administrations - were the perpetrators suitably qualified?

The ability of an E ngineer is best judged by how the products of their labour perform in their intended application, IMHO. Do you still need to ask that question? ;)

An interesting test Kevin.  Are you implying that the title technician would be better employed here?  Or are we going to have to defend that title too? ;)

What are those men who chase livestock on horses called again?

Basically just another 'bum' job then.... ;D ;D ;D

I actually am an 'e n g i n e e r' (aircraft) having done a  5 year apprenticeship in the late 60's and attending college, and have an OND in aircraft 'e n g i n e e r i n g' and spent 30 odd years building them.....

Both my indentures and my certificates (C&G  & OND) clearly state the treasured words  'E n g i n e e r'

So there!!!!! :) :) :)
