Fantastic news M, I am very glad you are in the mend. How is the colonel?
He was wearing his "black" humour coat when I saw him on Monday, but I'm not averse to a bit of black humour myself so it was good to exchange the "sick" cancer type jokes (mine are still better than his IMO)

I did struggle to work him out at first when he told me the tumour was no longer visible, it was almost as if he felt he had to talk me in to not going under the knife when he gave me the news.
I think that the Col was thinking like that because he knows I have had quite a blase attitude overall (when he told me last December, my reaction was nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders and a verbal statement of "oh well, shit happens").
Last Monday was a little bit different when I was waiting to go in and hear the results though, it's definately starting to sink in just how close the grim reaper potentially was.
The little "child born out of wedlock" is still over my shoulder because I still have the liver to deal with, but the news that the main cause is no longer visible on the MRI scan has been quite an uplift as the operation for the liver is a piece of piss compared to having my ringpiece hacked to bits (so I've been led to believe).
Even if it turns out the tumour is still down below and he has to operate I'll still be happy, because if it's shrunk to the point where it can't be seen on an MRI scan then that simply means less collateral damage for me when he goes in and a better chance of staying above ground rather than 6ft under.
PS
If it is all "doom & gloom" and I'm going to die in 6 months time, I'll be setting up business as a contract killer (cash only) to make sure the wife & kids have enough dosh to live on when I'm gone.
Not only will I obviously be cheaper than the likes of Carlos The Jackal if you do want someone done away with, but you also know you won't have to worry about me talking to the cops unless they get a damn good medium in

@ everyone else,
Many thanks for your wishes
