Yes, has anyone got any idea how the tyre valve in the Omega expansion bottle cap is "an ideal leak detector"??

(Page 13 of SSN) Very ingenious bodge though using a piece of tyre wall, a tyre valve and superglue!  Just wish I could understand the purpose of it!! :P :P :P

Surely if you pressurize the system too much something will blow!!  :o :o :o

a simple & effective leak test though lizzie, as long as you dont over do it of course. :D

It's been discussed a few times here. You're just pressurising the system to 15/20psi which is what your car is normally running at. It's easier to check for leaks on a cold engine reather that one that's red hot!

Thanks Johnty and Andy for explaining that, as I thought it would be some kind of useless, may be damaging, bodge! ::) ::) ;) ;)

I didn't realise we had that in the guide section Jimbob, but I suppose I should have done! ::) ::) ::)   This is the OOF!! :D :D :D 8-) 8-) 8-)

no worries, it is a good idea though & saves £££``s on buying the right kit. :y

Yes, just drill a hole in a cap & "Twang" a valve in it, no need for glue (your rims don't have the valves glued)  No more than 15psi though.  :y
