Ford probe 24v V6 Clutch
« on: 09 May 2010, 13:35:29 »

As anyone any experience of these cars? and what sort of job it is to replace the clutch please.

My son has decided to swap his Mondeo "Y" reg for said Probe on an "R" plate, and someone has told me the clutch replacement if needed at anytime (obviously likely at some point) is a nightmare Job, clutch kits are about £150 I've found.
Any other views/comments about this car? I quite like the look of these actually myself, though I'm not thinking of getting one. They are basically an MX6 I'm told.

TIA

Are Probe's front wheel drive then?
Sounds a little like doing a vectra dropping the sub frame etc :)

They are FWD, a popular conversion is the Mazda 626/MX-6 RWD but it's a lot of work just to swop to a proper drive train.

MX-6 is FWD as well, though? :-/ In fact, the MX-6 and the probe are both built on the same Mazda platform.

It must be the 626 that the RWD setup comes from then. I knew it was one of them  :D ;D
