Dukes Of Hazzard out of that lot, would go Smokey and the Bandit myself......all black with gold pinstripe detail and the golden eagle on the bonnet, plus big CB aerials.......

Sounds good BUT you would need someone in a wedding dress and a convertible for that. Lol

Its a bloody stag do mate, I am sure one of you guys would love to wear a wedding dress for the jaunt.........!!!

Second hand shops do em for around £30_

It would be a good laugh !!

That is one of our many top gear style challenges to wear the clothes to suit the cars age.....! (Im liking the wedding dress idea though!!)
We did initially want a Jag with tweed jackets and flat caps but we think it might be a little out of our budget considering we all wanted the 4 litre XJ6!

lol good luck with the project but next time find a very decent facelift 2.5td, manual and only use whitewash so it comes off easily and i will meet you in valncia and buy the car!!! :y

similar to our little trip in an Omega! See my Frank the Ramshackle Omega thread... We got ours for £150 but didn't have MOT or tax.

When you've done your trip let me know as I can probably get one of my fellow ramshacklers to buy it off you. At least they won't care if it's painted up etc. Obviously they can only give £150 though.

One of our convoy last year did the police theme by painting the car white and blue and writing "The Law" on the sides and back. Didn't have any issues at all with the BIB.

Right guys, we have our Omega for the Stag do now (3.0 Elite) and i must say, it is amazing. So... we are now trying to find out how legal we are with the stickers that are planned for it. The car already has the orange hatchings on the back (Its a saloon by the way). We are planning some orange and dayglow yellow on the sides but dont know what pattern to use to look legal..ish.

Being mostly orange i cant see a big problem but we want to make it stand out. It does have STAG DO PACE/SAFETY CAR written down both sides below the bump strips in bright orange and OD GATS on the bonnet (STAG DO) in reverse.
Obviously we dont have blue flashing lights or anything.

So do you think we are ok to put an orange stripe down it with some dayglow yellow dotted over the car?

The car is Silver by the way.

I hope someone will know of the legalities.

Just a quick update, It too 1440 miles (£260 in fuel) over 4 days, the Elite made it a breeze to be honest and all 4 of us are really reluctant to let it go!!!
Even the 3 wheeler that went made it with out too much trouble.
(Pics tonight hopefully!)

Now planning a trip round europe, but we would really like an MV6 now!!!
