Damn site easier, quicker and cheaper than having to change all the locks, and drilling them out :D, not that any of the egay sellers for locksets bothered getting back to me, useless retards.

I'd never trust Mrs Andy B to remember the safe place that she might put keys for safe keeping.  ::) ::) ::)

That's a result, but where did you find the key number? Not on the lock surely?

Right, some success :)

Not found the rather keys, but found a place is Albs county that could help. Rang them a few times as we tried different options. Due to it having a lock they couldn't identify, I was just about to remove the yoke and send it with the ignition to them for them to create a new key from the ignition lock, when they suggested on last thing. And we found a key number :y

2 new keys turned up yesterday morning, they work a treat. The cost? £12.50 delivered, for 2 keys :y

Had I had sent the yoke off for them to produce 2 new keys from the ignition lock, that would have been £35 for 2 keys, including return postage.

Top, old fashioned service at an excellent price :y

Anybody else in a similar pickle could do much worse than calling Richard at Basildon Locks http://www.basildonlocks.co.uk/ :y

:D

And tomorrow you will find the keys  ;D ;D

Not sure we will, as we spent a massive amount of time looking for them, not in any of the usual places, or in any drawers (she has a habit of just sliding stuff into random drawers).

I was expecting it to be an expensive job, to the point I have been looking at other bikes, not that I really wanted to change, as this one is cheap (just insured it, £76 Fully Comp SDP+Commute, can ride other bikes).

So I'm happy :y

The lock guy was expecting it on the (hidden part) of the barrel, but when I described the wiring and the position of Off/On/P/Lock etc, he said it likely wasn't, as Kwaka only put it on certain lock types.  Mine had an unusual lock type.  Saved me the hassle of dismantling it :y

Without giving too much away, he said, given the lock type, it was likely the number was stamped elsewhere on the bike, and told me where.  He was absolutely correct :y

Every number for locksmiths in this area, no matter what the company was called, went through to the same woman, who although very pleasant and understanding of me constantly ringing her (as I went through Google and the Yellow Pages), obviously had no passion/knowledge for locks. I must have rang the poor lass about 30 times on different numbers ;D
